Tech Mahindra Acquires Finastra’s Cash Management Suite to Bolster Banking Portfolio
By Lauren Towner · 23 October 2026

Tech Mahindra has acquired Finastra’s Cash Management product suite, including Fusion Cash Management, Virtual Accounts, and Liquidity Management. This move signals a significant shift in the transaction banking vendor landscape, as Tech Mahindra transitions from a services-led partner to an IP owner in the critical real-time liquidity and treasury space.
What was announced
Tech Mahindra (NSE: TECHM) has finalized the acquisition of Finastra’s Cash Management product suite, a move designed to bolster its Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) solutions portfolio. The deal encompasses the intellectual property for three core products: Fusion Cash Management (FCM), Fusion Virtual Accounts (FVA), and Fusion Liquidity Management (FLM). Beyond these primary platforms, the acquisition includes IP and capabilities for CashPlus, Global CashPlus, and a range of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
These tools cover essential banking functions such as payables, receivables, balance and transaction reporting, and cash-flow forecasting. The transaction is structured to ensure operational continuity for Finastra’s existing customer base. Tech Mahindra will provide sustained platform access and ongoing support services, facilitated by the transition of experienced product engineering and customer success talent from Finastra to Tech Mahindra. This integration leverages Tech Mahindra’s existing Finastra Centre of Excellence to maintain service levels.
The move addresses a growing demand among corporate and institutional banks for real-time cash visibility and automated liquidity optimization. By owning these assets, Tech Mahindra is better positioned to help financial institutions reduce operating complexity and improve treasury connectivity through API-enabled solutions across the transaction banking spectrum. The acquisition creates an IP-led platform to support growth across supply chain finance and adjacent transaction banking opportunities.
"The acquisition of Finastra’s Cash Management product suite strengthens our banking products portfolio and expands our ability to support financial institutions across critical cash and liquidity management needs,"
Anil Venuturupalli, SVP, Global Head of the Banking & Products Group and Chief Product Officer for the Financial Services (FS) at Tech Mahindra.
The companies involved
Tech Mahindra is a major provider of AI-powered digital transformation and technology consulting, operating as part of the Mahindra Group. The company has established a significant footprint in the global enterprise market, particularly within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Its strategy increasingly focuses on IP-led platforms to complement its traditional consulting and service offerings.
Finastra, the seller in this transaction, is one of the world’s largest fintech firms, formed through the merger of Misys and D+H. It is currently owned by Vista Equity Partners. Finastra provides a broad range of financial software solutions spanning retail banking, transaction banking, lending, and treasury capital markets. The company has recently focused on its open platform approach, often partnering with global system integrators like Tech Mahindra to deliver its solutions. This divestment of the cash management suite allows Finastra to streamline its portfolio while ensuring its long-term partners take over the stewardship of specific product lines that require deep engineering and localized customer success support.

FF News has followed Finastra’s recent efforts to modernize banking infrastructure, including how BRAC Bank Modernizes Trade Finance with Finastra and Conpend AI Integration. The company has also been active in the North American market, where Finastra StandbyX Launches to Help U.S. Banks Digitize Standby Letter of Credit Processing.
Earlier this year, the firm expanded its capabilities in the working capital space when Finastra Launches AI-Powered Supply Chain Finance Solution to Accelerate Bank Working Capital Growth. These developments coincide with industry recognition for its core platforms, as seen when Finastra Named 2026 Leader in QKS Group’s Integrated Bank Payments Platform SPARK Matrix. This history of product launches and AI integration highlights the significant nature of the assets Tech Mahindra is now absorbing into its own portfolio.
What this means
This acquisition signals a maturing of the relationship between global system integrators and core banking software providers. By moving from a service partner to an IP owner, Tech Mahindra is challenging the traditional boundaries of the fintech vendor market. This puts pressure on other legacy cash management providers who must now compete with a firm that possesses both the software intellectual property and the massive scale of a global consulting powerhouse. The industry must now consider whether this "service-to-product" transition will become a broader trend as integrators seek higher-margin recurring revenue. It also raises questions for corporate banks about whether they prefer their technology to be managed by pure-play software firms or integrated service providers.
