Daniel Kjellén is co-founder and CEO of Tink, a Swedish fintech company with the goal of helping people understand their finances, empowering them to make smarter decisions and ultimately bringing financial happiness. Founded in 2012, Tink has been trailblazing in the spirit of PSD2 by reverse engineering banks APIs long before the PSD2 regulation. Launched in 2013, the Tink consumer application has gained over 500 000 users in Sweden, making open banking reality. Before founding Tink, Daniel was an investment banker at Carnegie, the Nordics’ leading investment bank. Prior to this, he founded corporate domain name company Prodocon AB (now a part of NetNames Group), and served as the company’s CEO for seven years. Prior to Tink, Daniel Kjellén was the CEO of 8fig, a financial management software company. Daniel has also held senior positions at Moli, at.inc/, and Business Sweden. In addition to their work in the private sector, Kjellén has also served as the head of Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley and as an advisor to the Swedish government on tax policy. Daniel Kjellén has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing from San Francisco State University. Daniel also has a certification from StyrelseAkademien in Effective Company Directorship Certification. A direct report to Daniel Kjellén is and Fredrik Hedberg - CTO & co-Founder. Tink provides easy-to-use APIs as building-blocks to create the next-generation banking services. Its products include Account Aggregation, Payment Initiation, Personal Finance Management and Product Recommendations that are offered as a managed service. Tink can be used to develop standalone services or be integrated into existing banking applications. The company has 75 employees and its partners include SEB, ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas Fortis, Nordea, Klarna, Nordnet, Qliro, SBAB and Collector. Daniel Kjellén has a background as an investment banker and was also the founder and CEO of the domain name company Prodocon, now a part of NetNames Group.
