Jan van Vonno spearheads Tink's Industry Strategy — working closely with industry bodies and customers in order to shape the future of payments and open banking. Joining Tink in 2018 as Research Director, Jan was part of the first wave of recruits to help accelerate the platform and support the commercial organisation in communicating effectively with an executive audience. He supported Tink's journey as it went from a startup with a $100 million valuation to an exit with Visa at a $2.2 billion ticket. Before embarking on the Tink journey, Jan worked for the International Data Corporation (IDC) where he covered various technology and business topic as the head of the European digital transformation research program.
Jan van Vonno has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Jan has been a part of Open Banking since 2022, where they have served as a participant in the Open Banking Participant Forum and a member of the End User Participants Forum (EUPF). In 2018, they joined Tink and held positions such as Head of Industry & Wallets, Head of Industry Strategy, and Director of Research, where they played a significant role in Tink's growth as a leading open banking technology platform. Jan has also been involved in organizations such as ETPPA, European Payments Council (EPC), The Payments Association, PayBelgium, UK Finance and PSD2 Software Industry Group where they held roles such as Executive Committee Member, Member of various working groups, and Research Manager. Overall, Jan van Vonno has extensive experience in open banking, industry strategy, research, and advisory roles.
Jan van Vonno attended the University of Amsterdam - Amsterdam Business School from 2010 to 2012, where they pursued a Master's degree in Business Studies. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2011, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (B.B.A., Hons) with honors at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
