The award, presented by the independent market intelligence organization FinTech Breakthrough, honors top companies, technologies, and executives across categories including digital banking, lending, payments, and regulatory technology. Now in its 10th year, the program highlights individuals who are shaping the future of financial services through innovation and measurable impact.
Blandford, who has led Abrigo since 2022, was recognized for guiding the company through a period of expansion and technological advancement. Under his leadership, Abrigo has focused on delivering software solutions that help banks and credit unions manage compliance, reduce risk, and improve lending operations in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Company officials said Blandford has emphasized the integration of artificial intelligence into banking workflows, enabling financial institutions to address challenges such as fraud detection, operational efficiency, and faster access to capital. Abrigo recently introduced a suite of AI-powered tools designed to provide secure, transparent, and governance-ready insights for financial institutions.
In addition to product innovation, Blandford has overseen strategic acquisitions aimed at strengthening the company’s capabilities in data analytics and automation. These efforts have helped expand Abrigo’s offerings and position it as a comprehensive technology partner for community and regional financial institutions.
“Jay Blandford’s leadership blends innovation with integrity, performance with purpose, and growth with responsibility,” said Steve Johansson, managing director of FinTech Breakthrough, in a statement announcing the award. He added that Blandford’s approach has enabled financial institutions to better navigate regulatory pressures, staffing challenges, and evolving customer expectations.

Its platform focuses on risk management, financial crime prevention, and lending, areas that have become increasingly critical as banks adapt to new technologies and regulatory scrutiny.
Beyond product development, Blandford has also emphasized organizational culture and customer engagement. The company has expanded its customer advisory boards and hosts its annual ThinkBIG conference, which brings together nearly 1,000 banking professionals for training, collaboration, and discussions about industry trends.
Internally, Blandford has promoted initiatives aimed at strengthening workplace collaboration and inclusion, including employee resource groups and regular town hall meetings with leadership. These efforts are intended to foster transparency and align employees with the company’s broader mission.
The CEO said the recognition reflects the work of the entire organization rather than any one individual. “This award is truly a reflection of our entire team at Abrigo,” Blandford said, noting that the company plans to continue investing in innovation and growth to better serve financial institutions.
The honor adds to a series of recent accolades for both Blandford and the company, underscoring Abrigo’s growing influence in the fintech space.
