About Alexandra Frean

As Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Alexandra Frean leads external and internal communications, including PR, editorial content, social media and public affairs, as well as brand and marketing. She is also responsible for the delivery of Starling’s customer acquisition strategy. She joined Starling in 2018 after a 30+ year career in journalism, based mainly in London but also including postings to Paris, New York and Washington DC. Alexandra spent 25 years at The Times newspaper, where she served as a reporter, foreign correspondent and business columnist. Alexandra joined Starling because of its very clear mission to improve the financial lives of its personal and business customers, while at the same time challenging many of the tired and outmoded practices and attitudes of the traditional banking industry. If Alexandra Frean wasn’t at Starling, Alexandra would be running her own cake and pastry shop and practising Yoga.
