Rydoo Launches Model Context Protocol Connector to Integrate Expense Management into Claude and ChatGPT
3 September 2026

Rydoo has launched the Rydoo Model Context Protocol (MCP), a governed connector that integrates its expense management platform directly into AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT. This move allows fintech professionals to manage approvals and spend data through natural language interfaces, reducing the need for switching between multiple enterprise applications during the workday.
What was announced
Rydoo has introduced the Rydoo Model Context Protocol (MCP), a governed connector designed to embed expense management functionality directly into third-party AI environments. The protocol acts as an open standard, allowing business applications to link seamlessly with Large Language Models (LLMs). For the end-user, this means the ability to interact with Rydoo’s platform using natural language within tools like ChatGPT and Claude. Users can query outstanding expenses, approve or reject claims, and request complex spend summaries—such as costs associated with a specific project or business trip—without manually exporting data to spreadsheets.
The solution is targeted at both mid-market and enterprise-level organisations globally. A primary focus of the launch is the governance framework. To address the security concerns inherent in AI integrations, the Rydoo MCP includes an approval flow managed by IT teams. This covers user authentication, explicit consent, and granular control over which specific AI tools can access Rydoo’s data. This launch follows a period of expansion for the company, most notably the acquisition of Semine in July 2025, which integrated accounts payable automation into Rydoo’s core expense management offering. The MCP is available immediately for both new and existing customers.
"We’re excited to bring Rydoo into Claude and other mainstream AI tools that our customers already rely on every day. Finance teams don't need another tool to log into; they want their existing workflows to get smarter to drive efficiency across the business."
Sebastien Marchon, Founder & CEO at Rydoo.
The companies involved
Rydoo is a Mechelen-based expense management specialist that has scaled to support more than one million users across 130 countries. The firm focuses on AI-powered solutions to streamline corporate spending. In July 2025, Rydoo expanded its capabilities significantly through the acquisition of Semine, a company specialising in accounts payable automation. This move allowed Rydoo to bridge the gap between employee expense claims and broader corporate invoice processing. The integration also involves major AI platforms including ChatGPT and Claude. ChatGPT, which has been a focal point of conversational finance developments, provides the interface for many of these new governed connectors. Claude, accessible via claude.ai, represents the other major pillar of the current LLM landscape being adopted by enterprise IT teams. Additionally, Eurazeo is a key player in the investment landscape surrounding these types of high-growth fintech entities, providing the capital backing necessary for international expansion and strategic acquisitions like the Semine deal.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely tracked the trend of financial services migrating into conversational AI interfaces. Recently, Experian Launches Credit Cards App on ChatGPT to Drive Conversational Finance, highlighting how credit data is becoming more accessible through LLMs. Similarly, Insurify Upgrades ChatGPT Plugin to Enable Real-Time Car Insurance Quotes and In-Chat Shopping demonstrated the retail application of this technology. The shift is also reflected in consumer behaviour; Wealthtime Research Reveals 28% of Clients Now Use AI Tools to Support Financial Advice, suggesting a growing comfort with AI-mediated financial decisions. In the institutional space, KTX Launches AI Skills Kit to Bridge Gap Between Market Intelligence and Trade Execution showed that the demand for connectors that link AI agents to execution platforms is becoming a standard requirement for modern fintech infrastructure.
What this means
This announcement signals a shift in the "platform wars" of the fintech sector. For years, the goal was to become the "single pane of glass" where employees spent their day. Rydoo is acknowledging that for many professionals, that pane of glass is now an AI orchestrator like ChatGPT or Claude. By moving functionality to where the user already is, Rydoo puts pressure on legacy expense providers who insist on proprietary, siloed interfaces. The success of this strategy will depend on whether IT departments view the Model Context Protocol as a sufficiently robust security wrapper for sensitive financial data, or if the inherent "black box" nature of LLMs remains a barrier to full-scale enterprise adoption.
