Fisent Technologies Secures $4.3M to Scale GenAI Process Automation for Regulated Enterprises
By FF News Research (Claude) · 9 September 2026

Fisent Technologies has secured $4.3 million in its first priced venture round, signaling a critical shift from experimental AI to production-grade automation in regulated sectors. For fintech professionals, this investment highlights the growing demand for "agentic AI" that handles complex, unstructured data within existing compliance frameworks rather than replacing them.
What was announced
Toronto-based Fisent Technologies raised $4.3 million in a round led by FINTOP, a venture capital firm specializing in financial services. The round saw continued participation from strategic investor Pegasystems, bringing Fisent’s total funding to $6.3 million. As part of the transaction, John Philpott of FINTOP will join the Fisent board of directors. The company, which currently employs approximately 16 people, specializes in Applied GenAI Process Automation for enterprises operating under heavy regulatory oversight.
The core of the offering is BizAI, an agentic AI software designed to process unstructured content within complex enterprise workflows. This technology is intended to automate tasks that have traditionally required manual review and expert judgment, such as loan applications, customer onboarding, claims processing, and compliance reviews. Additionally, the company provides BizAI Studio, a no-code environment that allows non-technical users to build and deploy automation workflows independently of IT departments.
Fisent reported significant growth metrics alongside the funding, citing a 206 per cent year-over-year revenue increase in 2025 and a 173 per cent net revenue retention rate. The company also maintained zero customer churn for three consecutive years. In 2026, Fisent secured its first Fortune 50 customer. The new capital is earmarked to expand the enterprise go-to-market team, strengthen customer enablement and deployment engineering, and accelerate product development. It will also be used to broaden distribution through technology partners, including its existing relationship with Pegasystems.
"Adrian Murray, founder and chief executive of Fisent, said enterprises are moving beyond AI experimentation and choosing capabilities they can trust to operate at scale, and that customers are expanding BizAI across business functions because it delivers reliable outcomes within the systems and controls they already have."

The companies involved
Fisent Technologies Inc. is a Toronto-based provider of AI-driven process automation. The firm focuses on the "agentic AI" space, specifically targeting banking, insurance, and wealth management firms that require high levels of governance for automated decision-making. FINTOP, the lead investor, is a venture capital firm deeply embedded in the financial sector, supported by a strategic limited partner network of approximately 100 banks and financial services companies. John Philpott, who joins the board, serves as a Partner at FINTOP and is also a Master Mentor at Trovata.
Pegasystems, often referred to as Pega, is a strategic investor and long-standing technology partner to Fisent. Pega is a major player in the enterprise workflow and decisioning market, providing the underlying infrastructure for many of the world’s largest financial institutions. The partnership allows Fisent to distribute its BizAI capabilities through Pega’s established workflow ecosystem, combining generative AI with enterprise-grade business process management.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has extensively covered the evolution of Pegasystems as it integrates advanced automation into the banking sector. In early 2023, we reported how Pega Helps Shawbrook Bank Improve Processing Time for Unsecured Loans by 75%, followed by further efficiency gains where Pega Helps Shawbrook Bank Reduce Mortgage Processing Time in Half. These milestones demonstrated the industry's move toward radical efficiency in lending. Furthermore, the launch of Pega Announces Pega GenAI to Infuse Generative AI Capabilities in Pega Infinity '23 marked a turning point for the company, as it began infusing generative AI directly into its core platform to assist enterprise developers and end-users.
What this means
The transition from "Generative AI" as a simple text generator to "Agentic AI" as a functional workflow engine is the central theme of this funding round. By securing backing from FINTOP’s network of 100 banks, Fisent is addressing the "trust gap" that has previously stalled AI adoption in highly regulated environments. The industry is moving away from black-box AI experiments toward systems that prioritize governance and existing controls. This puts significant pressure on legacy RPA (Robotic Process Automation) providers to prove their tools can handle unstructured content with the same level of sophistication. The primary challenge for the sector remains the difficulty of deploying and improving these models inside complex, aging enterprise architectures.
