Euronet and Fireblocks Partner to Launch Stablecoin-Backed Card Issuing for Banks and Fintechs
By Lauren Towner · 20 October 2026

Euronet and Fireblocks have expanded their partnership to enable banks and fintechs to launch stablecoin-funded card programs. By integrating Fireblocks’ digital asset infrastructure with Euronet’s Ren and CoreCard platforms, the collaboration allows financial institutions to offer cards that spend stablecoin balances directly at traditional merchants, bridging the gap between digital assets and fiat payments.
What was announced
The expanded collaboration enables banks, fintechs, and other financial institutions to launch stablecoin-funded card programs using Euronet’s Ren and CoreCard issuing platforms. Fireblocks provides the underlying embedded wallet infrastructure, which manages the movement and storage of stablecoin balances. This setup allows consumers and businesses to spend digital assets at any location where traditional cards are accepted, while merchants continue to receive payments in local fiat currency.
Under the new framework, each cardholder is assigned an embedded wallet during the onboarding process. When fiat is deposited, it is automatically converted into stablecoins before being credited to the account. Users access these funds using existing credentials, removing the need for seed phrases or separate cryptocurrency management applications. Euronet plans to offer this as a white-label capability, allowing banks to embed the functionality directly into their existing banking or wallet apps.
The move builds on a partnership that began in October 2025, which initially focused on partner settlement and pre-funding within Euronet’s Cross-Border Payments segment. The expansion into card issuing addresses a growing market trend; during the second fiscal quarter of 2026, the Visa network reported more than 160 live stablecoin-linked card programs, with payment volumes increasing by nearly 200% year-over-year. Fireblocks currently facilitates an average of more than $300 billion in stablecoin volume every month, providing the scale necessary for these global card programs.
"Stablecoins have fundamentally changed how money can move around the world, but their true potential will be realized when they become as easy to use as the payment products consumers and businesses already rely on every day. With our stablecoin-backed card offering, we are bringing together the speed, flexibility and global reach of digital currencies with the familiarity and acceptance of traditional card payments. Our goal is simple: enable our customers to launch innovative card programs across markets while abstracting away the complexity of digital assets, payments infrastructure and local ecosystems."

What FF News has reported before
FF News has followed Fireblocks’ expanding role in the digital asset sector closely, including its recent efforts to drive institutional adoption. In September 2026, the publication covered how Fireblocks Integrates Cardano Native Tokens to Drive Institutional Adoption, followed by news that Bitpace Partners with Fireblocks to Accelerate Global Stablecoin Settlements.
The company’s presence at major industry events was also noted in the report Cardano Foundation Launches Programmable Tokens and Identity Spin-out at TOKEN2049, which highlighted Fireblocks' involvement in significant token launches. Additionally, FF News reported on the broader competitive landscape for digital asset platforms, such as when Fiserv Launches Digital Asset Platform with Bank of North Dakota’s Roughrider Coin, illustrating the increasing intersection of traditional core banking providers and digital assets.
What this means
This partnership signals a shift where stablecoins are no longer niche assets for traders but are being repackaged as invisible backend technology for mainstream retail. By removing the technical friction—such as seed phrases and manual conversions—Euronet and Fireblocks are putting pressure on traditional card issuers who have yet to integrate digital asset rails. The massive growth in Visa’s stablecoin-linked programs suggests the market demand is real, but the challenge remains in navigating the fragmented global regulatory landscape. This move forces a question for the sector: will stablecoins eventually replace fiat as the primary settlement layer for cross-border card payments?
