Digital Onboarding Launches AI-Native Platform and DOBI Intelligence Agent for Banks
3 September 2026

Digital Onboarding has completed its transition to an AI-native architecture with the launch of DOBI, a specialized AI agent designed to streamline business intelligence and marketing for financial institutions. For fintech professionals, this marks a significant move toward consolidating fragmented data stacks into a single, conversation-driven interface that handles everything from audience segmentation to content generation.
What was announced
The core of the announcement is the introduction of DOBI (Digital Onboarding Business Intelligence), an AI agent built to navigate the complex data environments of banks and credit unions. Historically, these institutions have struggled to extract actionable insights from millions of transactions across thousands of accounts. DOBI is designed to bridge this gap by retrieving intelligence hidden within these data sets and presenting outcomes in a format that non-technical teams can understand and act upon.
The platform currently features two primary capabilities that are live for users. The first is Content Creation, which allows users to generate on-brand emails, text messages, and landing pages in seconds. The second is Audience Building, which utilizes a natural language interface to translate plain-English requests into precise, compliance-reviewed segments. These tools work in conjunction with Digital Onboarding’s existing Ready-to-Launch Audiences.
Furthermore, the platform addresses the high costs associated with fragmented marketing stacks. Many institutions currently pay for separate data warehouses, BI dashboards, and multiple engagement point solutions—a structure that can cost tens of thousands of dollars in licensing and internal management time. By consolidating these functions, the platform aims to save institutions up to six figures annually. Security remains a focal point, as the system is built so that personally identifiable information (PII) is never shared with third-party large language models, and every action taken by the AI agent is logged for audit and compliance purposes.
Additional features, including end-to-end Campaign Creation and the ability to track custom outcomes and optimizations, are currently available for demonstration and are scheduled to go live in the coming months. DOBI also offers benchmarking capabilities by drawing on aggregated data from across the company's network of over 170 financial institutions, provided the institution grants permission.
"DOBI replaces what used to take a stack of agencies and point solutions with a conversation. You tell it what you're trying to accomplish, in plain language, and it builds the audience, drafts the content, optimizes performance, and shows you what it's worth. That's what an AI-native platform makes possible."

The companies involved
Digital Onboarding is a lifecycle engagement platform that specializes in helping banks and credit unions increase account profitability and customer retention. The company currently serves more than 170 financial institutions, providing tools that simplify the process of turning complex transaction data into personalized, timely messaging for customers. The platform is led by Co-Founder and CEO Ted Brown and Jen Packard, who serves as the VP, Solutions and Marketing.
The company’s primary market position is centered on solving the "fragmented stack" problem. In the traditional banking model, marketing and data operations are often siloed across a dozen different point solutions—one for content, one for reporting, and another for audience segmentation. This disconnection often leads to "invisible" data patterns that stay hidden when information is scattered across tools that do not communicate effectively. Digital Onboarding’s evolution into an AI-native platform is an attempt to unify these disparate layers of cost and data into a single system. By providing overall goal tracking and campaign-level attribution, the company allows bank leadership to connect specific marketing spend directly to revenue-generating outcomes and business performance.
What this means
This shift toward AI-native platforms puts significant pressure on traditional marketing agencies and niche point-solution providers that have long dominated the banking sector. For years, mid-tier banks have been trapped in a cycle of "stitching together" expensive, disconnected tools. By moving the intelligence layer directly into the onboarding and engagement platform, Digital Onboarding is challenging the necessity of the traditional BI function for routine marketing tasks. The move raises a critical question for the industry: as AI agents become capable of handling compliance-heavy tasks like audience building and content drafting, will the role of the human "campaign manager" shift entirely toward strategy rather than execution? Furthermore, the ability to benchmark against 170 other institutions suggests that data network effects are becoming the new competitive moat in fintech.
