Authologic Registers as EU Digital Identity Provider Ahead of eIDAS 2.0 Mandate
3 September 2026

Authologic has become the first company in Poland registered to issue Electronic Attestations of Attributes (EAAs), a critical component of the upcoming EU Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem. For fintech professionals, this registration signals the practical arrival of eIDAS 2.0 infrastructure, shifting identity verification from manual document uploads to cryptographically signed, wallet-based digital credentials.
What was announced
The registration, granted by Narodowy Bank Polski, makes Authologic the first company in Poland and one of the first providers in Europe registered to issue EAAs. This milestone positions the platform to support regulated businesses as the continent transitions from traditional forms of identity verification towards wallet-based digital credentials. This shift is occurring amid a series of significant digital identity regulatory deadlines that will reshape the financial services landscape across the 27 EU Member States.
The capability is live today, meaning businesses can immediately use Authologic to issue and verify EAAs. To assist with the transition, the company has launched the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Playground at eudi.authologic.com, where firms can test EAA issuance and verification in a controlled environment. These attestations act as cryptographically signed credentials, allowing people and organisations to share verified attributes—such as identity, age, or professional status—through the emerging wallet infrastructure.
Under the eIDAS 2.0 framework, all EU Member States are required to make at least one European Digital Identity Wallet available to their citizens starting from December 2026. This is followed by the EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (EU AMLR), which becomes effective in July 2027. This regulation will further increase the role of electronic identification in customer verification processes. Together, these milestones mark a fundamental shift in how identity will be established and shared across Europe, creating growing pressure for regulated businesses to prepare for the issuance and acceptance of trusted digital credentials that are cryptographically signed and instantly verifiable.
"Electronic attestations and EUDI Wallets will soon become a core part of how identity works across Europe. Being registered to issue them places Authologic at the centre of an identity infrastructure that will underpin digital identity for around 450 million Europeans. Regulated businesses need to be ready to both issue and accept these credentials, and we’re giving them the infrastructure to do that."
Jarek Sygitowicz, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Authologic.
The companies involved
Authologic is a trust infrastructure platform designed for regulated businesses that need to verify and authenticate users. The company provides the technical framework necessary for organisations to move away from legacy identity systems and toward modern, digital-first solutions. By operating as a Trust Service Provider, Authologic occupies a critical position in the market, facilitating the secure exchange of attributes between users and businesses within the European Digital Identity framework. The platform is built to handle the complexities of regulated environments, ensuring that identity data is both secure and compliant with evolving European standards.
The registration was issued by Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP), which is the central bank of Poland. Headquartered in Warsaw, NBP is the institution responsible for the stability of the national currency and the oversight of the country's payment systems. As a regulatory body, NBP’s role in registering Trust Service Providers ensures that entities like Authologic adhere to strict security and operational standards. This oversight is vital for the broader adoption of Electronic Attestations of Attributes, as it provides the necessary trust for financial institutions and other regulated entities to rely on these digital attributes for high-stakes transactions and compliance requirements. The bank's involvement highlights the importance of digital identity infrastructure in the modern European economy.
What this means
The registration of the first EAA provider in Poland marks the transition of the EU Digital Identity Wallet from a policy concept to a functional market reality. This move puts immediate pressure on traditional KYC vendors whose business models rely on legacy document review and OCR technology. As the 2026 eIDAS deadline approaches, the industry faces a fundamental question: how quickly can legacy financial institutions overhaul their onboarding flows to accept these cryptographically verified attributes? While the technology promises to reduce fraud and friction, the success of the EUDI ecosystem depends entirely on the widespread availability of registered issuers. The shift toward wallet-based identity is no longer a future prospect but a current compliance requirement.
