About Iana Dimitrova

Iana Dimitrova studied English law at the University of Birmingham, got her Masters of Law degree from the University of Strasbourg in 2009, specializing in Technology Media and Telecommunication Law and International Law. As her career started shifting to management positions in fintech, Iana got an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree in 2017 at the London Business School to round up her educational journey. Iana has extensive experience in the fintech and payments industries. But prior to the fintech industry, Iana was working in private practice as a corporate lawyer.
Iana started her career as a legal trainee at Hunton & Williams LLP in Belgium. In less than a year later, she took a position as a legal associate in Penev LLP, Sofia.
After almost two years at Penev LLP, she joined the Bulgarian branch of Paysafe in 2011 where she worked as Head of Legal Affairs, Digital Wallets, and finally as Managing Director, managing a team of over 1000 persons. Her role at Paysafe was the move that introduced her to the fintech industry. Iana stayed at Paysafe for over 5 years.
Iana Dimitrova joined OpenPayd in 2017, initially as general counsel. She was later appointed as CEO, the role she still holds today. She leads a diverse team of over 100 staff at OpenPayd. As the CEO of OpenPayd, Iana defines her job as “setting the strategic direction and vision for OpenPayd and leading the executive team”.
