N26 launches new premium account called N26 Smart

The German digital bank N26 is aligning its product range to the new consumer habits during the pandemic and the decline of vacation and business trips.

N26 Smart and N26 Business Smart are offering new money management features like Round-Ups or dedicated phone support. The new service also comes with access to Spaces sub-accounts, Shared Spaces functionality and more.

The so-called Spaces are more than a normal sub account. Up to ten other N26 customers can access it after being activated by the account holder and all the users can also transfer money to other accounts.

The introduction of N26 Smart will also change the services of the existing premium accounts. N26 You will become N26 International for “flexible banking across national borders”. 

The most expensive offer – N26 Metal – with various additional and insurance benefits will become N26 Unlimited. In addition to the fee-based offers, the free N26 Standard account will continue to be used in the future, explained Valentin Stalf, CEO N26. 

N26 Smart costs around half of the You account at 4.90 euros per month.
