ClearBank, Zopa Bank and Cube Among Big Winners at Fintech Awards London 2025
The Fintech Awards London 2025, the capital’s flagship celebration of innovation and excellence in financial technology, brought the UK fintech community together in spectacular style beneath the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre at The Underglobe on Wednesday, 18 June.
Hosted by the ever-energetic Julia Streets, founder and CEO of Streets Consulting, this year’s ceremony showcased the power, purpose, and creativity of the fintech sector with a vibrant evening of awards, recognition, community spirit—and dancing.
Headline winners included ClearScore, named Fintech Company of the Year for its commitment to improving financial wellbeing by offering free access to credit scores, reports, and Open Banking data. As a trusted financial marketplace, ClearScore empowers millions of users to take control of their financial futures. Zopa Bank, the British online bank, was awarded Scale-Up Company of the Year, while Lloyds Lab secured Best Accelerator/Incubator of the Year for its outstanding impact in nurturing early-stage fintech startups.
Charles McManus, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of ClearBank, was also recognised as Fintech Leader of the Year for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the fintech sector.
Other standout achievements came from CUBE, which was awarded Regtech Company of the Year, and Serene, which received the Fintech for Good Award for its pioneering AI-powered Consumer Vulnerability Engine. Serene combines behavioural science and AI to help financial institutions proactively detect and support customers facing financial or non-financial vulnerabilities—such as life events, mental health challenges, or scam risk—driving better outcomes and compliance through tools like SereneID, SereneScore, and SereneCare.
Matt Hyde, Founder of Fintech Awards London, said:
“This year’s awards were a high-energy, high-impact celebration of the people and companies making fintech better—for customers, for business, and for society. We’re proud to shine a light on those reshaping financial services in London and beyond. The warmth, talent and innovation in the room was genuinely inspiring.”
Supported by a powerful network of sponsors and partners—including AON, Eversheds Sutherland, S&W, Cavendish, Zopa Bank, Deloitte, EY, OpenPayd, Innovate Finance, HaysMac, Recruit 121, SkyParlour, The Fintech Fringe, The Fintech Times, and London & Partners—the Fintech Awards London 2025 continues to celebrate the role of fintech in building a smarter, fairer, and more inclusive financial system.
