Factual Data Announces Addition of Innovis Failsafe Protected Pre-Fill in Finastra Integration

WHY THIS MATTERS: The seamless integration of identity verification tools directly into the digital Point-of-Sale (POS) system represents a critical evolutionary step in the digital mortgage ecosystem. As the industry faces twin pressures—rising origination costs and an explosion in sophisticated application fraud—lenders are racing to front-load risk mitigation. This integration, bringing Innovis’ Protected Pre-fill and Factual Data’s credit insights into the Finastra Originate Mortgagebot platform, moves fraud prevention from a later compliance check to the very start of the borrower journey. By instantly validating identity and pre-populating fields using reliable consumer data, the platform drastically cuts down on manual data entry errors and friction, which historically cause applicant abandonment. Crucially, this embedded, data-driven automation addresses both operational efficiency and compliance needs, setting a new standard for how lenders manage risk and deliver a frictionless borrower experience in a highly competitive market.

Factual Data®, a leading provider of credit and verification services for the mortgage lending industry, today announced that lenders using the Finastra Originate Mortgagebot POS platform can now access Innovis Failsafe® Protected Pre-fill through the platform’s existing credit integration with Factual Data.

Protected Pre-fill, a feature of Innovis Failsafe, is a solution that uses consumer data from Innovis® to confirm an applicant’s identity and automatically populate key fields in a mortgage application—reducing manual entry, mitigating fraud risk, and streamlining the applicant onboarding experience.

Within Originate Mortgagebot, Protected Pre-fill is delivered through Innovis Early View, a low-cost mortgage credit report offered by Factual Data. Innovis Early View combines Innovis identity data with Factual Data credit insights to help lenders assess applicant identity and credit eligibility earlier in the process.

As digital mortgage applications continue to increase, lenders are under pressure to control costs while maintaining strong identity verification and fraud prevention practices. Using Innovis data at the beginning of the loan journey can help lenders improve workflow efficiency, reduce unnecessary downstream costs, and create a faster, smoother application experience.

“Lenders continue to look for ways to control costs while improving the applicant experience,” said Reno D’Water, President of Factual Data. “By making Protected Pre-fill available through this integration, we’re helping lenders access reliable data earlier in the process—supporting more efficient lending and enhanced affordability.”

“Innovis Failsafe has already helped financial institutions streamline identity verification and application data capture in the credit card and auto lending markets,” said Matt Patterson, President of Innovis. “Extending this capability to mortgage point-of-sale origination through integrations like this is a natural next step in improving the mortgage application experience for both lenders and applicants.”

“We’re pleased to work with Innovis and Factual Data to bring this capability to lenders,” said MaryKay Theriault, Senior Director of Product Management at Finastra. “Providing seamless access to Innovis-powered prefill data alongside credit services from Factual Data can help lenders streamline operations.”

FF NEWS TAKE: This move is less about a standalone feature and more about cementing the necessary foundation for truly automated lending. By embedding sophisticated fraud prevention right at the digital application layer, Factual Data and Innovis, via Finastra, are moving the needle toward a faster, ‘no-touch’ mortgage process. The next step will be to watch how rapidly this pre-fill standard expands beyond mortgage-specific data into a universal layer across all consumer lending verticals to create consistent, high-trust digital onboarding experiences.
