LendWell Secures Major UK Expansion Deal with SPF Private Clients
By Lauren Towner · 12 October 2026

LendWell has secured a multi-year partnership with SPF Private Clients to integrate its AI-driven mortgage platform into the UK firm’s operations. For fintech professionals, this deal signals a shift from simple digitisation to active AI case management, aiming to strip administrative burdens from highly skilled advisers and accelerate the mortgage submission process.
What was announced
LendWell is entering a multi-year agreement with SPF Private Clients (SPF) to deploy its AI technology across SPF’s mortgage and protection business units. The implementation process is currently active, with a comprehensive rollout scheduled for 2027. The platform is designed to integrate directly with SPF’s existing operating models and systems rather than requiring a complete infrastructure overhaul.
The LendWell platform utilizes artificial intelligence to manage the specific context of individual mortgage cases. It handles the preparation of documentation, manages client follow-ups, and coordinates the various administrative tasks required to move a case toward submission. By automating these workflows, the technology aims to increase adviser capacity without requiring a proportional increase in administrative staff. Rather than acting as a standalone tool, the platform connects case information with supporting evidence, allowing the AI to perform specific tasks which are then presented to advisers for review.
Crucially, the system is built to support rather than replace professional judgment. Advisers remain responsible for the final advice and lenders retain control over credit decisions. LendWell’s role is focused on the administrative, underwriting, and operational layers of the process. This UK expansion follows LendWell’s 2026 deployment with Finance Solutions, a member of Howden Ireland and the largest mortgage broker in Ireland, which provided the firm with initial experience in a live, regulated mortgage environment.
"Mortgage technology has spent years digitising processes, but digitising manual work isn't the same as removing it. Too much mortgage expertise is still consumed by administration. We believe the next step is to put AI to work on the mortgage case itself, taking on more of that work rather than simply giving advisers another tool to use. That's what we're building LendWell to change. The aim isn't to replace professional judgement, it's to make better use of it. By reducing the work around that judgement, mortgage businesses can create more capacity to grow and advisers can spend more time with their clients. The opportunity is to take work off advisers' desks by extracting information from documents, calls and other communications, linking it to supporting evidence and progressing cases more efficiently. With SPF, we are building that capability around the way its teams operate, so more of their expertise can be focused on serving clients and growing the business. We're looking forward to working together to put that approach into practice."

The companies involved
LendWell is an AI-focused mortgage technology provider that positions its platform as a solution to the administrative constraints facing modern mortgage and protection businesses. The company focuses on connecting case information with supporting evidence to allow AI to perform specific tasks for human review, aiming to solve the issue of skilled adviser time being tied up in manual administration.
SPF Private Clients is a prominent UK-based financial services firm specializing in mortgage and protection advice. The firm manages complex client requirements that traditionally demand high levels of manual oversight and expert intervention. As a major player in the UK intermediary market, SPF’s adoption of AI-driven case management reflects a broader trend among established brokerages to seek efficiency gains through deep-tech integration. The partnership allows SPF to maintain its focus on high-touch personal service while leveraging LendWell’s operational automation to handle the increasing volume of documentation and regulatory requirements inherent in the UK mortgage market. What this means
This partnership highlights a critical evolution in the mortgage tech stack: the move from "tools" to "agents." For years, the industry has focused on front-end digital applications, yet the back-end remains a bottleneck of manual verification and document chasing. By attempting to automate the "work around the judgment," LendWell is challenging the traditional ratio of administrative staff to advisers. This puts pressure on legacy CRM and point-of-sale providers who have failed to move beyond basic data entry. The success of this rollout will likely determine if AI can truly handle the nuances of regulated underwriting or if it remains a sophisticated document sorter.
