Island has secured $400 million in Series F funding, valuing the enterprise browser pioneer at $6.4 billion. For fintech and enterprise leaders, this capital injection underscores a critical shift in security architecture: the transition from traditional network perimeters to an "agentic control plane" that governs both human employees and autonomous AI agents.

What was announced

Island’s $400 million Series F round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from a broad syndicate of existing and new investors including Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, and J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners. This latest round more than doubles Island’s valuation since 2024, reaching $6.4 billion. The company, which launched in 2022, currently employs 1,000 people and has reported doubling its annual recurring revenue (ARR) every fiscal year.

The funding is designed to support Island’s role in providing visibility and auditing for enterprises scaling AI agents. The company’s core offering, the Enterprise Browser, has expanded into a broader security suite. This includes data protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and a next-generation Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture that operates from the endpoint outward. Island’s technology unifies five layers of the stack: last-mile control, network, data, identity, and observability. This allows organizations to govern real-time interactions across browsers, endpoints, and cloud resources regardless of the specific models or applications being used.

Recent industry recognition for the Dallas-based firm includes being named to the 2026 CNBC Disruptor 50 list and receiving the 2026 Global Zero Trust Browser Security Company of the Year award from Frost & Sullivan. Most recently, the company was named a Customers’ Choice in the 2026 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Secure Enterprise Browsers.

"We’ve entered a new era in which people and AI agents work side by side. Just like humans, agents need the right context, access, guardrails, and accountability to succeed. Island created the first Enterprise Browser to protect the primary place people work. From there, we expanded into data protection and DLP, then built a next-generation SASE architecture from the endpoint outward. Those combined capabilities give CIOs, CISOs, and business unit owners one security, productivity, and governance framework for everywhere human and agentic work occurs. This investment gives us even more capacity to innovate with our customers and help them safely scale AI."

The companies involved

Island was founded by CEO Mike Fey and CTO Dan Amiga. Since its 2022 launch, the company has positioned itself as the creator of the Enterprise Browser category, moving beyond simple web navigation to provide a managed environment for corporate applications. The company is headquartered in Dallas and has rapidly scaled its workforce to 1,000 employees to meet rising enterprise demand for simplified security infrastructure.

Evolution Equity Partners, which led this round, is a specialist firm focused on cybersecurity and enterprise software. The investment syndicate features some of the most prominent names in venture capital and growth equity. Sequoia Capital and Insight Partners are among the most active investors in the fintech and security space, with Sequoia appearing in 18 previous reports from this publication and Insight Partners in 12. Other participants include Coatue Management, which has been featured in seven prior stories, and Cyberstarts, whose founder Gili Raanan was an early backer of Island. The round also saw personal investment from cybersecurity entrepreneur Dmitri Alperovitch, who is the Co-founder and Chairman of Silverado Policy Accelerator and former CTO of CrowdStrike.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has recently tracked a surge in high-value funding rounds for AI-centric enterprise platforms. On September 23, 2026, we reported that Numeral Secures $100M Series C to Scale AI-Powered Sales Tax Compliance Platform. This followed our coverage of Kastle Raises $24M Series A to Transform Consumer Lending with AI Workforce Platform, a round also involving Insight Partners. Additionally, we covered Luzern Risk Secures $45M Series B to Scale AI-Native Captive Insurance Platform. These developments align with the themes of AI and digital transformation highlighted in the Money20/20 USA 2026 Unveils Agenda.

What this means

Island’s $6.4 billion valuation is a clear signal that the "Enterprise Browser" has graduated from a niche security tool to a foundational piece of corporate infrastructure. By embedding security at the point of interaction rather than just at the network level, Island is challenging the dominance of legacy SASE and VPN providers. The focus on "agentic" work—where AI agents perform tasks on behalf of humans—is the next major battleground for CISOs. As AI agents begin to navigate internal systems autonomously, the industry is under pressure to move away from reactive auditing toward real-time, identity-based governance that treats silicon and carbon workers with the same level of scrutiny.
