Canvas Conversations with Elena Kriek at Banking Renaissance 2023

Welcome to a brand new episode of Canvas Conversations! We joined some of fintech & banking’s top minds to discuss some of the most pressing issues in the industry this year. All whilst having their caricature drawn at Banking Renaissance 2023. In this video, Elena Kriek, one of the organisers of Banking Renaissance 2023 sits down with Ali Paterson to discuss the draw factors that attract attendees to events in the fintech industry.

“My main point of thought is that people come to these events to see other people, communicate in-person and develop their industry knowledge. I think to succeed with that, you need to have something special for people at your event. In my opinion, this is the personal connection that we offer, the personal touch. Even Brett King came to us and said ‘It’s very different here, it’s so personal. At other events, when you speak you just come and go. But here, we get to have interaction with the guests.”

“So when people come [to banking renaissance], they feel open with each other. They make new friendships and new connections, they don’t just come for the conference or the event. It’s a very informal, friendly environment for communication.”
