About Travers Clarke-Walker

Travers Clarke-Walker is a senior level executive with more than 15 years board level experience, a proven track record in large scale leadership, marketing, product development, transformation change programs, business development and innovation.  Travers Clarke-Walker is currently Chief Commercial Officer for Thought Machine, a startup led by two former Google engineers which has created a cloud-based operating system for banks to bring their infrastructure into the 21st Century. He is also currently a Strategic Advisor to AppInstitute, a create your own app SaaS platform, and Pollen Technologies, a technology-led aggregated payments layer. Travers' previous role was Chief Marketing Officer at Fiserv - International Group, having previously been MD EMEA - International Division. Fiserv is a leading global provider of information management and electronic commerce systems for the financial services industry. Before joining Fiserv, Travers Clarke-Walker was MD Payments and Innovation - UK of Barclays, responsible for a £1.5bn turnover business in UK retail banking. He headed up innovation across Barclays UK Retail and Business Banking as well as setting up ‘Innovation Centers’ for both Barclays and EDF Energy. He was responsible for over 1500 front line staff as Sales and Service Director for Barclays Business.  In addition he led two large scale marketing functions, Barclays Business Marketing, and EDF Energy Marketing. Successfully launched two scale loyalty reward programs, Bespoke with Barclaycard and Nectar with EDF Energy.  Travers Clarke-Walker was also responsible for major digital programs, including new system build for next best product systems and mobile banking platforms. A member of Barclays Information Council, he had the responsibility for leading the agenda on decision analytics in Barclays, and developed a deep appreciation of regulated industries having worked with Ofgem and the FSA (now the FCA).  He also operated on two external boards , Visa Europe Strategic Advisory Board Member and the British Bankers Association .
