About Steve Elliot

Steve Elliot joins LexisNexis Risk Solutions from resourcing and consultancy firm Huntswood, where he also served as managing director. He has 25 years’ experience providing financial crime and payment solutions to clients across financial services, gaming, utilities, and payment firms. Steve has previously held executive roles in risk management in the UK and abroad, bringing with him a strong set of credentials, including chairman of the ABI Anti-Fraud committee, where he introduced an online, global anti-counterfeiting system, leading directly to the removal of several hundred million pounds of fraudulent and counterfeit product trade advertisements. Beyond this, he also has experience of chairing a variety of leading industry groups and has supported the development of global investigation and security standards. He was also Detective Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police force within the Commercial Crime Bureau, bringing experience in on-the-ground law enforcement as well. Steve Elliot has experience across a broad range of industry sectors, including Global CSO at the world’s largest trade inspection, testing, and certification firm, a Board Advisor on a £4bn Global Security Fund, a range of Operational and Financial Crime (MLRO) roles at Insurance, Wealth, and Investment PLCs, and leading HQ Fraud/AML investigations in the Royal Hong Kong Police. Having been on the law enforcement side and now moving over to the vendor perspective, Steve is an expert in managing risk. LexisNexis Risk Solutions provides data-led solutions to enable firms to manage financial crime compliance and customer authentication challenges, including the use of machine and deep learning across physical, digital, and behavioral data attributes. Steve Elliot joins the team with a clear mandate to drive strong domestic growth for LexisNexis Risk Solutions and to maximize new opportunities for the business. He will be based in the firm’s UK office in Cardiff.
