Liquidnet Appoints New Global Head of Listed Derivatives Business Development

Liquidnet, a leading technology-driven agency execution specialist, today announced the appointment of Michael Gibbons as Global Head of Listed Derivatives Business Development. Gibbons joins from Morgan Stanley, where he spent over 12 years leading electronic futures sales and coverage across global markets.

Based in New York and reporting to Marianna Rayetskyy, Global Head of Listed Derivatives, Gibbons will lead the firm’s global expansion strategy for listed derivatives, focusing on deepening client relationships across geographies and asset classes while identifying emerging trading opportunities in futures and options.

“Michael’s track record of building and scaling listed derivatives businesses makes him the ideal leader for this next phase of growth,” said Marianna Rayetskyy, Global Head of Listed Derivatives. “This appointment represents a significant step forward in accelerating our market expansion and implementing our global strategy.”

Gibbons brings nearly two decades of listed derivatives and multi-asset execution experience, most recently as a senior leader in Morgan Stanley’s Global Cross-Asset Futures business, where he successfully led the US Listed Derivatives Electronic Sales efforts and drove adoption of algorithmic execution and TCA tools. He previously served as Vice President of Electronic Futures Sales and Coverage at Goldman Sachs, where he built client relationships and execution strategies across electronic derivatives markets.

Michael Gibbons, Global Head of Listed Derivatives Business Development, commented: “As the listed derivatives landscape is rapidly evolving, service, experience, quality execution, and innovation matter more than ever. Liquidnet’s unique agency model and commitment to transparency align perfectly with where the market is headed. I’m looking forward to working with the team to expand our capabilities and continue delivering value to our clients.”
