Ebix Europe Announces New Data-first Features for PlacingHub

Pioneering London Market technology specialist Ebix Europe is pleased to announce a suite of new features for its digital placing platform PlacingHub, fostering a best-in-class data-first approach to support market modernisation.

The new DataFirst suite provides features centring around highly flexible, user-defined document templates that support any type of insurance document and any class of business. Data for the templates can be sourced either by manual data entry, automatically converting Word/PDF contract documents, or using APIs to push/pull data directly between users’ core systems and the platform.

PlacingHub, which launched earlier this year, is Ebix Europe’s electronic placing platform that enables brokers and insurers to quote, negotiate, bind and endorse business digitally.

Pete Smyth, Vice-President at Ebix Europe, said: “The introduction of our DataFirst suite is a real milestone for PlacingHub. After a strong start, securing a solid client base, we’re now taking this platform to a new level, which we’re confident will provide the market with the powerful, flexible and intuitive tools needed to smoothly negotiate, place and renew business in the modernised data-first approach, and finally relegating inefficient documents to history.

The London Insurance Market is fast becoming data-driven, and PlacingHub is leading the charge with comprehensive data-first capabilities that will only speed up processes, increase accuracy and efficiency.”

James Pring, Head of Sales at Ebix Europe, added: “The DataFirst suite fully supports the market’s data-first modernisation strategy, providing the ability to trade with completely flexible, user-defined templates for any type of insurance document from complex placing slips to quote sheets. These can be used for any class of business and any type of complex risk placement. A variety of different ways are offered for populating the templates depending upon the user’s individual needs and capabilities, ranging from manual data entry, through automatic Word/PDF document conversion right up to full API integration. And, as the data can be validated according to market standards, the DataFirst suite fully supports MRC v3 and CDR.”
