Worldline and Motor Fuel Group Partner for Ultra-rapid and Rapid EV Charger Roll-out

Worldline, a European leader in payment services, and Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, are partnering to deploy best in class EV Charging consumer experience in the UK.

Highlights

  • Worldline has deployed over 1,200 payment terminals across MFG’s Ultra-Rapid and Rapid EV chargers, including 738 installed in 2024 and 500 in 2025, enabling comprehensive payment acceptance and commercial acquiring services across the EV charging network.
  • This major investment is part of MFG’s £400 million commitment to expanding EV charging infrastructure across the UK.
  • The partnership puts consumers first, delivering fast, simple, and secure payment options for EV drivers, while supporting operational efficiency for businesses.
  • The roll-out will continue at pace into 2026 as MFG continues to invest across its estate throughout the UK.

The partnership

MFG’s investment is directly aligned with the UK’s ambitious climate goals and the ongoing transformation of road transport. By delivering simple payment solutions across its rapid and ultra-rapid charging network, MFG is helping to remove barriers to EV adoption, creating quick, simple and secure payment options.

Worldline’s payment platform powers this seamless experience, providing MFG with an integrated hardware and software solution specifically designed for the EV charging market. This strategic positioning enables Worldline to support the rapid expansion of charging infrastructure across Europe, combining secure payment processing with operational intelligence that drives network efficiency.

MFG’s adoption of Worldline hardware and software has improved charger operational efficiency by over 20%. MFG’s investment also ensures that the business adheres to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a set of requirements for any organisation that processes, stores, or transmits cardholder data to protect against fraud and data breaches.

Looking ahead to 2026, MFG will continue to invest in new Ultra-Rapid hubs throughout the UK, with Worldline’s technology continuing to play an important role in the customer experience.

Martin Symes, EV Director, MFG, commented: “At MFG, we are committed to making the transition to electric vehicles as straightforward as possible for UK drivers and businesses. Our partnership with Worldline means customers can rely on fast, secure, and convenient payments at our Ultra-Rapid and Rapid charging points nationwide. This investment is a key part of our wider £400 million programme to accelerate EV adoption and support the UK’s climate goals.”

Caspar van Roon, UK & EU Lead Business Development Manager – Petrol & Energy, Worldline, commented: “We are proud to support MFG’s ambitious roll-out of rapid EV charging across the UK. By providing advanced, secure payment solutions, we are helping to remove barriers for EV drivers and creating a seamless experience for UK businesses and consumers alike. Our collaboration with MFG demonstrates how payment innovation can drive operational efficiency and support the UK’s shift to sustainable transport.”

Both MFR and Worldline are deeply committed to the ambitious climate goals. The deep expertise of MFR in Ultra-Rapid and Rapid EV chargers and the Worldline One Commerce ecosystem are making the perfect combination to deliver the required experience in the UK.
