Uome Launches New Point of Sale Feature That Comes With a Cost of Living Incentive Changing the Game for Small Businesses & Entrepreneurs

Uome is excited to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art application point of sale (aPOS) system via our Plaid integration which enables Uome users to take in person payments directly from their customers and clients. This is done by allowing customers to simply scan a QR code on the business owner’s phone to accept payment via Uome’s open banking solution, which settles the funds directly to the businesses bank account, immediately after the customer confirms payment.

Uome’s platform empowers the self-employed community to run their businesses from their mobile phone and is committed to simplifying processes, this new feature is a game changer for small businesses and entrepreneurs allowing them to accept contactless open banking payments (via QR code) through the app itself.

To celebrate this cutting edge fintech and to show our solidarity during the cost of living crisis, Uome will waive all aPOS fees for the first 500 businesses that subscribe to its £9.99 a month plan saving them potentially hundreds of pounds for the year. But that’s not all, for the new subscribers aPOS transaction fees will also be waived for one whole year (Ts & Cs apply) so businesses essentially get to make and keep more money at a time when it is really needed.

Many small business owners and entrepreneurs that sell products and services in person find that they need to purchase a POS system in order to do so. A regular POS terminal comes with hardware and software components, as well as multiple pieces of software for managing inventory and tracking sales transactions etc. All of which comes at a price, which can go as high as £230 a month excluding transaction fees which can be up to 3.4% per transaction. However, with Uome’s aPOS system business owners don’t need any additional hardware or software, other than their mobile device and the Uome app.

Jason Halstead CEO and Founder of Uome, commented:

“The new aPOS feature means business owners can take payments wherever they are via their mobile phones and no longer need to carry around additional hardware to manage this process.

This really does open up opportunities to conduct more business in person in a professional way. Whether you’re an entrepreneur selling your books or courses at an event, a creative selling goods or a vendor at a pop-up market, with Uome on your phone you’re good to go.”

Like the app, the feature is simple to use. When it’s time to make an in person transaction, users enter an amount or select the item(s) from their product catalogue. The Uome app then generates a QR code which the customer/client scans. The payee will then be prompted to select their bank to complete the transaction. It’s that simple.

With this new feature on the app, business owners can say goodbye to waiting on payout schedules, and hello to instant payments. The new aPOS feature is available on the Uome subscription plan. Download today for Apple or Android.
