Konsileo Appoints Insurance Veteran Joe Zuk to its Board
Chartered insurance broker Konsileo has appointed US insurance, operations, and investment executive Joe Zuk to its board of directors to advise and support on its continued fast growth.
Joe started his career in broking in New York and built several reinsurance and MGA operations before becoming a hands-on investor and operator specialising in middle-market growth firms.
He is an operating partner at US-based Altamont Capital Partners (ACP), where he serves as a board member or advisor to several high-growth innovative insurance businesses, many active in the UK market.
His appointment to Konsileo’s board is independent of his Altamont position.
He is the third non-executive director appointed to Konsileo’s board, joining Investor Director Judy Welch and Geoff Lloyd, who has led human resources at FTSE 100 firms.
Konsileo has grown organically to become a c.£70 million GWP broker with a strategy based on recruiting top commercial brokers and supporting them to be the most professional advisers in the industry, learning and collaborating on business opportunities with colleagues.
Konsileo is a trusted risk adviser to small, medium, and mid-corporate businesses. It has never – and will never – issue placement diktats to employees.
The business has invested heavily in technology to underpin its fast growth, developing its trading platform and deploying targeted AI to enhance operational efficiencies and client outcomes.
Founder and CEO John Warburton commented: “It’s a really exciting time for Konsileo, and we’re very pleased to have Joe’s insight and counsel at the table.
“It’s rare to find a real insurance operator who is also a heavy-hitting US investor – and a really nice guy to boot. Joe will be hugely valuable in helping Konsileo accelerate our growth and bring even greater rigour and operational excellence to everything we do.”
Joe Zuk commented, “Konsileo has achieved remarkable organic growth by redefining the traditional brokerage model, distinguishing itself in a sector typically dependent on M&A for scale. I have been impressed by the founding team, their technology development, and their unique approach in the market. Their exceptional blend of culture, empowered talent, and proprietary technology has set them apart, fuelling innovation and expansion. I look forward to partnering with Konsileo’s impressive team as a board director to further accelerate their success across the UK and explore opportunities internationally.”
Joe’s extensive career began with a decade as a reinsurance broker and underwriter in treaty and facultative P&C across the US and international markets. He went on to lead Orchid Underwriters as managing director of corporate strategy and development and to pioneer a segregated cell captive reinsurance facility.
Joe was previously Board Manager at Atlas General Holdings, overseeing the expansion of its commercial P&C commercial lines and property catastrophe divisions and directing its overall corporate development and strategy.
