WisdomTree Launches Tech Megatrends ETF
WHY THIS MATTERS
WisdomTree’s launch of a multi-thematic tech ETF reflects growing investor demand for diversified exposure to structural technology trends—without the risk of picking individual winners. As innovation cycles accelerate across AI, blockchain, cloud and quantum computing, investors are increasingly looking for strategies that capture how these themes intersect rather than operate in isolation.
This product also highlights the continued evolution of thematic investing. Instead of single-theme ETFs, providers are now packaging multiple interconnected trends into one vehicle, offering broader exposure while managing concentration risk. With strong inflows into thematic ETFs, this approach aligns with how investors want to access long-term growth opportunities in a more balanced way.
WisdomTree, a global financial innovator, has today announced the launch of the WisdomTree Tech Megatrends UCITS ETF (TMGT), providing diversified exposure to eight tech themes. The ETF seeks to track the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the WisdomTree Tech Megatrends Equity UCITS Index (the “Index”) and has a Total Expense Ratio (TER) of 0.50%. TMGT, listed today on Börse Xetra, Borsa Italiana, Euronext Paris and SIX, the Swiss stock exchange and will list on the London Stock Exchange on 26 March 2026.
The proprietary strategy is designed to tap into the long-term growth potential of disruptive tech companies around the world and benefit from the structural technological changes shaping the world’s future. It is designed to track the performance of global listed companies involved in investment themes across the Technological Shifts megatrend, which include artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and quantum computing, among others.
The launch of the WisdomTree Tech Megatrends UCITS ETF builds on the firm’s established thematic ETF range and the proven framework developed for the WisdomTree Global Megatrends Equity strategy which has outperformed the Nasdaq 100 by 11.05% since launch.
Since 2018, WisdomTree has expanded its suite of 15 thematic UCITS ETFs, which today manage over $9 billion in assets globally, while refining its approach to building both single-theme and diversified multi-thematic strategies. The new ETF leverages the same disciplined framework that underpins the WisdomTree Megatrends UCITS ETF, focusing specifically on technology-driven themes through three complementary sources of potential alpha: strategic thematic asset allocation, tactical thematic asset allocation and thematic stock selection.
Three Layers of Alpha Generation
- Strategic thematic asset allocation that provides investors with a curated exposure to the most promising tech themes while maximising diversification between them.
- Tactical thematic asset allocation allows the strategy to lean in and overweight themes when a combination of positive factors creates a virtuous cycle for a given theme.
- Thematic stock selection leverages experts across different themes to select the most relevant up-and-coming companies for each theme.
Pierre Debru, Head of Research, Europe, WisdomTree said: “Technological innovation does not occur in isolation. AI depends on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity underpins digital expansion, and advanced semiconductors enable both. A multi-thematic approach captures these interdependencies, providing investors with diversified exposure to multiple long-term growth engines within the broader technology ecosystem.”
The launch of TMGT follows the February and March 2026 launches of WisdomTree Physical AI, Humanoids and Drones UCITS ETF and WisdomTree Europe Infrastructure UCITS ETF. WisdomTree continues to see strong interest in its thematic ETF range, with inflows of $1.9bn in 2026 and $3.9bn in 2025.
Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe, WisdomTree, added: “Our focus is on developing differentiated ETFs that solve real portfolio challenges. Investors want efficient access to transformative technologies, but they also recognise that identifying individual winners within fast-evolving themes can be difficult, which is why discipline and diversification matter. This multi-thematic ETF brings those elements together in a single, transparent strategy designed to add long-term value.”
FF NEWS TAKE
This is a smart evolution of thematic investing.
Rather than betting on one trend, WisdomTree is packaging the entire tech ecosystem into a single strategy—recognising that the future of innovation is interconnected, not siloed.
For investors, it’s a simpler way to access big themes without needing to pick the winners themselves.
