DNV Selects NatureAlpha as Biodiversity & Nature Data Provider

NatureAlpha, a dynamic AI fintech business for preeminent nature risk data and analysis, today announced it has been selected as nature and biodiversity data partner by DNV, a Norwegian based global leader in assurance and risk management.

Under the new arrangement, NatureAlpha’s platform, Geoverse 2.0, is now accessible to DNV’s clients, providing granular biodiversity and nature risk insights across 8.5 million global asset locations.  This will help to enable the finance industry’s holistic comprehension and management of climate and natural world risks, supporting economic resilience, long term value creation and regulatory readiness.

The appointment highlights DNV’s commitment to nature and biodiversity preservation, while marking a significant milestone for the organisations’ collaboration, following DNV Venture’s investment in NatureAlpha, in February.

“Over the last 18 months we have witnessed the rapid ascent of nature as a risk consideration amongst the finance industry. We are privileged to deepen our existing relationship with DNV, in providing pioneering nature data and analytics to its clients,” said Vian Sharif, Founder and President, NatureAlpha.  “This continued partnership will broaden NatureAlpha’s reach within Norway, one of sustainability’s most progressive and authoritative nations, enabling clients to understand and mitigate their natural world risk, while making informed and sustainable investment, capital allocation and business-related decisions.”

Viken Chinien, Head of Department, Enterprise Risk Management in Energy Systems, DNV, commented:  “The collaboration and access to NatureAlpha’s Geoverse 2.0 platform is transformative for DNV, as we can combine it with our climate tool platform, Climatics, to provide comprehensive exposure and vulnerability assessments of nature-climate risks on business operations and investments. The combination of granular nature and climate data enables us to provide our clients with clear insights to deliver integrated and synergistic solutions to address their climate-nature risks.”
