CMC Markets Expands Offering with New Multi-asset Platform to Trade and Invest
WHY THIS MATTERS
CMC Markets’ new multi-asset platform reflects a broader shift in how retail and professional investors want to engage with markets—combining investing and trading within a single, flexible environment. By offering access to 12,000+ shares and ETFs alongside CFDs and options in one account, the platform removes the need to switch between providers or manage fragmented portfolios. This aligns with growing demand for seamless, all-in-one solutions as investors increasingly move between long-term investing and short-term trading strategies.
CMC Markets, a FTSE 250 company and global leader in online trading for retail, professional and institutional clients, has announced the launch of its new multi-asset platform.
The launch is a key pillar of CMC’s strategy to deliver a best-in-class platform designed for modern investors and traders who value flexibility, choice and cost efficiency.
Clients can now invest in 12,000+ global shares and ETFs with 0% commission, and there are no platform or holding fees – just a simple 0.5% FX conversion fee, which may apply. Alongside the new offering, clients can trade on a wide range of global markets via CFDs and options, all from a single account.
As part of the launch, CMC Markets is also now offering 0% commission on UK and EU share CFDs (excluding Greece), reinforcing its commitment to competitive and transparent pricing.
Chris Cheverall, Head of UK, CMC Markets, said:
“By offering investing and trading side by side, we’re making it easier for clients to choose the approach that suits them.
“You might want to own shares in companies like Nvidia as part of a long-term strategy, or trade those same markets more actively using leverage – and now you can do both through a single CMC Markets platform. This reflects our ambition to set the standard in multi-asset trading and investing.”
Vaughn Affonso, Co-Head of Dealing, CMC Markets, commented:
“Removing commission on UK and European CFD shares allows our clients to trade more efficiently. At a time of increased investor interest and rotation from US markets into the UK and Europe, this provides a cost-effective way for clients to access new opportunities and manage their capital more dynamically.”
FF NEWS TAKE
The line between investing and trading is disappearing.
CMC Markets’ latest launch shows how platforms are evolving to meet more dynamic investor behaviour. Users no longer want separate tools for long-term investing and active trading—they want one place to do both. The platforms that successfully unify these experiences while keeping costs low will define the next generation of retail trading.
