Blank Rome Joins American Fintech Council (AFC) to Support Fintech Policy and Regulatory Dialogue

The American Fintech Council (AFC), the largest industry association representing both responsible fintech companies and innovative banks, announced the addition of Blank Rome as the newest member of its Legal Advisory Committee.  Blank Rome is an international law firm providing legal services across a wide range of practice areas and industries, including financial services and technology. As a Legal Advisory Committee member, Blank Rome will contribute legal and regulatory perspective to AFC’s work supporting responsible innovation and sound policy development in the financial technology sector.

“Blank Rome’s expertise in advising clients on regulatory and legal matters related to financial services and emerging technologies will be an incredible asset to the Legal Advisory Committee,” said Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council. “Their insight will inform AFC’s ongoing engagement on policy issues affecting the financial services sector and strengthen dialogue with policymakers as responsible innovation continues to evolve.”

Blank Rome advises fintech clients on regulatory compliance and examination support, new product development, due diligence and mergers and acquisition in matters including lending and payments arrangements, banking-as-a-service models, licensing, digital assets, and blockchain-related issues. The firm also provides counsel on privacy, data protection, intellectual property, and technology matters involving artificial intelligence, biometrics, and connected devices. This work supports clients as they evaluate regulatory obligations and legal considerations associated with evolving business models and new, innovative financial products. In addition, Blank Rome’s strong litigation team supports its clients when disputes arise, whether consumer class actions, regulatory enforcement actions, or commercial disputes.
