B2B payment platform Modulr wins big at the 2018 Emerging Payments Awards

Modulr, the new digital payments account for business, won Best B2B Payments Programme and Best Technical Organisation supporting Emerging Payments at the 11th annual Emerging Payments Awards, hosted at The Hilton, Park Lane, London on Wednesday 10th October. The company was also named a Silver winner in the Leading Payments Start-Up category.

Modulr accounts provide an alternative to bank accounts for business payments, making them faster, easier and more reliable than legacy technology solutions. The company focuses on specific industry verticals including lending, employment services and payroll, accounting software, and Payments as a Service for fintechs. Businesses can automate high volumes of complex payments any time, even out-of-hours and on weekends.

The EPAwards celebrate the best of the UK’s flourishing fintech sector, recognising established names and innovative start-ups for their ongoing work to transform the sector. Among the other winners were Caffè Nero and Monzo.

The judging panel, comprised of industry leaders from the likes of Mastercard and the European Association of Payment Service Providers for Merchants, were impressed by Modulr’s unparalleled level of service to business customers with its simple API, 24×7 availability and exceptional developer support.

In September, the company revealed its new office in Edinburgh, following new funding secured from Blenheim Chalcot, to take advantage of the city’s burgeoning fintech scene and grow its software engineering, customer support, risk and compliance, and finance teams.

Speaking on the award win, Modulr CEO, Myles Stephenson, said, “It’s an honour to be recognised by our peers at these prestigious emerging payments industry awards. It was a pleasure to accept the award on behalf of our teams in London and Edinburgh to recognise their significant efforts and commitment to deliver the rapid growth we’ve achieved at Modulr.”

In its first two years, Modulr has processed £5.1bn in business payments. The company’s success at the Emerging Payments Awards follows its victory at the 2017 Payments Awards, where it was named Payments Startup of the Year.
