Press Release: TransferMate and Serrala Partner to Embed Global B2B Payments in Finance Automation | Featured Image by FF News

TransferMate and Serrala have partnered to embed global B2B payment capabilities directly into Serrala’s finance automation platform. This integration allows over 2,800 organizations to initiate and process international payments within their existing workflows, eliminating the need for fragmented bank portals and providing fintech professionals with a more streamlined, regulated infrastructure for cross-border transactions.

What was announced

The partnership integrates TransferMate’s global payment infrastructure into Serrala’s platform through a full API integration. This move is designed for Serrala’s customer base of more than 2,800 organizations, many of which operate across complex international environments. By embedding these capabilities, users can move away from managing multiple bank portals and instead utilize a single, integrated provider for payment initiation and processing.

TransferMate brings a significant regulatory footprint to the deal, holding 100 licenses—the largest regulated fintech payments infrastructure globally. This allows Serrala customers to access global payment rails, intelligent routing, and local settlement capabilities. The integration also includes competitive foreign exchange execution, which is critical for enterprises managing international spend.

The collaboration is launching with an initial focus on accounts payable. By bringing payment execution into the same environment where treasury, accounts receivable, and cash application are managed, the partnership aims to reduce the friction typically found in cross-border B2B commerce. TransferMate will serve as the exclusive payments partner for Serrala, ensuring that financial teams can execute transactions without leaving their primary automation environment. The collaboration is designed to deliver greater customer value while creating a scalable route to new markets and payment volumes for TransferMate.

"Finance teams are under increasing pressure to simplify processes, improve visibility and operate more efficiently across borders. Our partnership with Serrala brings payments directly into the financial workflows where those decisions are already being made. By combining Serrala’s expertise in finance automation with TransferMate’s global payments infrastructure, we can help enterprises streamline international payables, improve the supplier experience and gain greater control over their global payments."

The companies involved

TransferMate is a major player in the embedded B2B payments space, known for its extensive regulatory network and infrastructure that facilitates cross-border transactions. The company has built a reputation for providing the "plumbing" of international finance, allowing other platforms to offer seamless payment experiences to their own users. Its focus on the office of the CFO has made it a frequent partner for enterprise-grade financial software providers.

Serrala is a global leader in finance process automation, specializing in software that optimizes the universe of payments for organizations. The company provides a suite of tools covering treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital automation. Serrala’s platform is designed to help large enterprises move toward autonomous finance by automating manual tasks and providing better data visibility. With a client base exceeding 2,800 organizations, Serrala occupies a significant position in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) ecosystem, often serving as the connective tissue between complex corporate accounting systems and the banking world.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed the evolution of both companies as they expand their automation and embedded payment footprints. Recently, we covered how Serrala Launches Governed AI Agents to Accelerate the Shift to Autonomous Finance, highlighting their push into artificial intelligence. The firm also expanded its reach through a collaboration with IFS, as seen in Serrala and IFS Partner to Deliver AI-Powered Finance Automation for Enterprise ERPs.

TransferMate has been equally active in the embedded space. We previously reported on a similar strategic move in TransferMate and Raindrop Systems Partner to Embed Global B2B Payments into Source-to-Pay Workflows. This ongoing trend of embedding financial services is reflected in broader market data, such as when BVNK Data Reveals 263x Surge in Embedded Stablecoin Wallets, illustrating the rapid adoption of integrated financial tools.

What this means

This partnership signals a shift in the B2B landscape where "automation" is no longer enough; "execution" must be part of the package. By embedding TransferMate, Serrala is addressing a major pain point for CFOs: the "last mile" of the payment process. Traditional banks are under increasing pressure as fintechs bypass the need for separate banking portals, offering a more cohesive user experience within ERP and automation platforms. The move raises questions for legacy financial institutions about how they can remain relevant when the actual initiation of a payment is moving away from their proprietary interfaces and into the software where businesses live.
