Target Group Appoints Fiona Peel as Product Manager to Drive Financial Services Innovation
By Lauren Towner · 13 October 2026

Target Group has appointed Fiona Peel as Product Manager to enhance its software and outsourcing proposition for the financial services sector. Peel’s arrival from Coutts brings deep operational expertise to the firm as it seeks to scale its £21 billion asset management platform, a move critical for institutions navigating increasingly complex regulatory and efficiency demands in the UK.
What was announced
Fiona Peel joins Target Group as Product Manager, a role designed to strengthen the firm’s offerings across payments, servicing, and collections. She is tasked with bringing greater clarity and consistency to the product suite, ensuring that financial institutions can access clearer, more scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes. Peel will work across the business to help articulate the value Target delivers to financial institutions as they seek to manage growth.
Peel brings over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, spanning banking, credit, mortgages, and wealth management. She began her career as a mortgage adviser before moving into leadership positions at major UK banks HSBC and NatWest. Most recently, she spent 14 years at Coutts, where she held several senior roles. These included serving as Continuous Improvement Manager, where she focused on operational capacity and client experience, and Head of Mortgage Operations. Her final tenure at the private bank was as Client Journey Manager, where she oversaw change initiatives across financial planning and investment journeys.
At Target Group, Peel will apply this background in operational change to help shape the firm's fintech platform. The company currently manages more than £21 billion in assets for major UK financial institutions, combining business process outsourcing (BPO) with proprietary software to handle complex administration and servicing tasks. With nearly five decades of experience across banking and insurance, the company is positioning its products to help organisations manage increasingly complex processing and administration requirements.
"After 14 fantastic years with Coutts, I’m really excited to join Target and work on products and solutions that have a tangible impact on people’s everyday lives. Not only is the proposition really impressive, but the team behind it are experts at what they do. Using my experience in operations within credit and banking, I want to work with this brilliant team to develop our product offering and really demonstrate what we can offer to financial institutions."

The companies involved
Target Group is a prominent UK-based provider of software and business process outsourcing services, specializing in the management of complex financial products. The company has been a fixture in the financial services landscape for nearly five decades, offering end-to-end administration for loans, mortgages, and savings. Target Group is a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra, the Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company. This parentage provides Target with significant global backing and technological resources, allowing it to compete as a major player in the UK fintech and BPO space.
The firm’s market position is defined by its ability to bridge the gap between legacy banking requirements and modern digital delivery. By managing over £21 billion in assets, Target Group serves as a critical infrastructure partner for some of the UK’s largest financial institutions. Its focus remains on the insurance, banking, and investment sectors, where it provides the underlying technology and operational support necessary for firms to scale their portfolios without the overhead of internal system development. As part of the Tech Mahindra family, Target leverages a global network to deliver localized solutions for the UK market.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Target Group’s efforts to modernize mortgage technology and strengthen its leadership. The firm recently appointed Carla Stent as Non-Executive Director to support its strategic growth initiatives. On the product front, Target has been active in enhancing its Mortgage Hub platform, recently partnering with Provenir to integrate advanced data and AI capabilities. Further technical updates include the addition of a new split screen interface to the Mortgage Hub to improve user efficiency. Additionally, the company has worked on improving core banking functions, such as when Target Group transformed the effectiveness of Decision in Principle processes for its clients.
What this means
The appointment of a veteran from a high-touch institution like Coutts signals a shift in how BPO providers view the "client journey." As the UK financial sector faces mounting pressure to demonstrate Consumer Duty compliance and operational resilience, the distinction between a software vendor and a strategic partner is blurring. Target Group is clearly doubling down on the human-centric side of product management to ensure their automated systems meet the nuanced demands of private banking and wealth management. For the wider industry, this move underscores the necessity of hiring practitioners who have sat on the "client side" of the desk to bridge the gap between technical capability and regulatory expectation.
