Osaic has appointed veteran executive Sayee Bellamkonda as its first Chief AI & Technology Officer, signaling a significant shift in how major wealth management firms prioritize artificial intelligence. For fintech professionals, this move highlights the industry-wide transition from general digital transformation toward AI-driven advisor productivity and scalable client infrastructure.

What was announced

Sayee Bellamkonda joins Osaic’s executive committee, reporting directly to CEO Jamie Price. In this newly created role, he will lead the firm’s advisor- and client-facing technology, AI initiatives, and cybersecurity strategies. The appointment is framed as a strategic investment in Osaic’s integrated technology capabilities, aimed at advancing the firm’s technology and AI roadmap. Bellamkonda’s primary focus will be on strengthening the underlying data and AI infrastructure to increase employee productivity and improve client outcomes across the enterprise.

Bellamkonda brings a deep academic and professional background to the role, holding a Global Doctor of Business Administration in AI and Data Science from Rennes School of Business in France. He also holds an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix and engineering degrees from Delhi University and Nagarjuna University. Before joining Osaic, he served as executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer at Vialto Partners. His career also includes executive roles at CBRE, Ameriprise Financial, and American Express, where he managed global technology teams across digital products, enterprise data, and cloud transformation. At Osaic, he will work to enhance existing technology initiatives while building a more scalable platform for the firm’s financial professionals.

"Sayee has spent his career connecting technology strategy with business outcomes, and he knows how to build the organizations, capabilities and culture needed to turn that strategy into action," said Price. "Bringing a leader of Sayee’s caliber to Osaic reflects the opportunity we have to build something consequential and underscores how important these enhancements are to our future. Having Sayee aboard enables us to embrace technology and AI as a central part of our growth strategy as we continue to build a differentiated, integrated platform for financial advisors."

The companies involved

Osaic is one of the largest providers of wealth management strategies in the United States, operating a massive network that includes entities such as Osaic Wealth, Inc., Osaic Institutions, and Osaic Services, Inc. The firm is backed by Reverence Capital Partners, a private equity firm that specializes in thematic investing in global financial services. Osaic’s market presence has been shaped by the integration of various wealth management brands, with context data identifying associated names like Ladenburg Thalmann, VISION2020 Wealth Management Corp, and CW Advisors.

Bellamkonda’s previous employer, Vialto Partners, is a global provider of mobility and tax services that was established following its separation from PwC. During his tenure there, Bellamkonda was responsible for building the company’s independent global technology organization. His background at American Express and Ameriprise Financial further connects his experience to the broader financial services ecosystem, where large-scale data and innovation initiatives are critical to maintaining market share against both legacy competitors and emerging fintech startups.

What FF News has reported before

Recent reports include how spektr Launches AI-Assisted AML Investigation Tools as FCA Fines Top £300 Million, demonstrating the growing reliance on AI for complex data tasks. The broader fintech advocacy landscape, which impacts firms like Osaic’s former partners at American Express, was recently detailed in the American Fintech Council Reports Record Growth and Advocacy Wins in 2026 Mid-Year Review. Furthermore, the role of major consultancies in scaling these technologies was highlighted when Solmate Infrastructure Taps PwC to Scale AI and Blockchain Convergence Strategy, reflecting the same institutional environment Bellamkonda navigated during his time at Vialto and PwC.

What this means

The creation of a dedicated "Chief AI" role at a firm of Osaic’s scale marks a turning point for the wealth management sector. It suggests that generic digital tools are no longer sufficient for firms looking to maintain a competitive edge in advisor retention and client acquisition. By recruiting a leader with a doctoral background in AI and experience at legacy giants like American Express, Osaic is responding to the intense pressure to turn vast data reserves into actionable insights. The industry now faces a clear question: can traditional wealth platforms integrate these advanced technologies fast enough to stave off competition from AI-native fintech challengers?
