Mesh Launches Link Chat: Turning Conversational AI Into Direct Financial Action
By Lauren Towner · 15 October 2026

Mesh has launched Link Chat, an AI-powered interface that allows users to execute crypto transactions through natural language commands. For fintech professionals, this represents a significant shift from manual app navigation to intent-based money movement, bridging the gap between conversational AI and the underlying payment rails required to settle digital asset transfers.
What was announced
The new product, Link Chat, is an AI-driven experience integrated into the existing Mesh Link infrastructure. It is designed to allow users to initiate financial actions by stating their intent in plain language, such as "Deposit 50 USDC into my account." The system then guides that request through a transaction flow, orchestrating the connection between funding sources and destination platforms without requiring the user to manually navigate between multiple applications or manage complex transfer steps.
The capability is currently live and is being rolled out to Mesh’s partners. While the initial focus is on deposits and account funding, the company intends to expand Link Chat across its broader product stack to include payments and additional transaction types. The launch addresses a growing consumer trend; data from Forrester indicates that 31% of consumers across the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada now use conversational AI for personal finance questions, with 24% of those users engaging with tools outside of their primary banking apps.
Link Chat functions by combining a conversational interface with Mesh’s connectivity and orchestration layer. When a user makes a request, the system surfaces eligible funding sources, including previously connected accounts and compatible new accounts. Users maintain control by reviewing and confirming transaction details before any funds are moved. Mesh will showcase the technology at the Money20/20 conference on October 19, where Arjun Mukherjee will discuss the transition of money movement into a conversational experience.
"Conversational interfaces are changing how people get things done. But in financial services, an interface is only as useful as the infrastructure behind it. Link Chat brings the user experience and the financial rails closer together, so people can use the value they already hold without navigating a maze of disconnected accounts and platforms."
Arjun Mukherjee, Chief Technology Officer at Mesh.
The companies involved
Mesh is a crypto payments network that provides infrastructure to connect digital wallets, exchanges, and financial platforms. By offering a single integration point, Mesh enables other financial institutions and fintechs to offer connected experiences without the need to build and maintain individual integrations across a fragmented ecosystem of digital asset providers. The company’s core offering, Mesh Link, is the embedded experience that allows end-users to link their accounts and move funds securely.
The company occupies a critical position in the market as an orchestration layer, focusing on the "plumbing" of the crypto economy. Rather than acting as a consumer-facing wallet itself, Mesh provides the connectivity that allows other platforms to access liquidity and assets held in external accounts. This model has seen significant traction, with Mesh appearing in 20 previous reports by FF News. The firm has focused on expanding its reach through both strategic partnerships and acquisitions to scale its global connectivity network, positioning itself as a central hub for digital asset interoperability.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Mesh’s expansion in the crypto infrastructure space. Recently, the publication covered how Mesh Acquires Bluvo to Scale Global Crypto Payments Network Connectivity, a move designed to bolster its technical capabilities. The company has also been active in forming major industry alliances, such as when Bybit Pay Integrates with Mesh to Unlock Crypto Payments for 80 Million Users, significantly increasing the potential user base for Mesh-powered transactions. Additionally, Mesh’s role in the wider ecosystem was highlighted during the launch of related ventures, including when Fin.com Emerges from Stealth with $20M Seed to Scale Global Money Movement, further demonstrating the momentum in the money movement sector.
What this means
The move toward "intent-based" finance marks a departure from the traditional menu-driven UI that has dominated fintech for a decade. By moving the execution of transactions into a chat interface, Mesh is challenging the necessity of the standalone banking app as the primary site of interaction. This puts pressure on traditional financial institutions that have invested heavily in proprietary apps but lack the underlying orchestration to handle cross-platform crypto transfers. The industry must now grapple with whether users will trust AI to interpret financial intent correctly, and whether the convenience of conversational commerce outweighs the transparency of traditional manual transaction flows.
