LBank has launched a Pre-IPO market, debuting with Kalshi-linked tokenized offerings on October 29, 2026. This move allows fintech professionals to observe how crypto-native platforms are successfully bypassing traditional brokerage hurdles to provide retail users with economic exposure to high-value private companies, potentially reshaping the landscape of pre-listing investment and liquidity.

What was announced

LBank’s new Pre-IPO market is designed to provide eligible users with economic exposure to selected private companies before they reach public markets. The inaugural offering focuses on Kalshi, a U.S.-based event contracts exchange. The system operates through tokenization, where assets are issued by Paimon and backed 1:1 by underlying Kalshi shares held via a special purpose vehicle (SPV). This structure allows users to participate using their existing LBank accounts without opening separate securities brokerage accounts.

The offering includes two distinct tokenized assets: cKLSH and xKLSH. The cKLSH token is priced at 28 USDT and carries a six-month lock-up period following a potential Kalshi IPO. In contrast, xKLSH is priced at 39 USDT and is intended for spot trading on LBank once distribution begins. The subscription window opens on October 29 and closes on November 2, 2026. LBank has set a total subscription quota of 500,000 USDT, with individual participation limits ranging from a minimum of 10 USDT to a maximum of 5,000 USDT. Token distribution and the commencement of xKLSH spot trading are scheduled for November 2 at 09:00 UTC. While the tokens track the economic performance of the underlying shares, they do not grant direct ownership rights in Kalshi.

The companies involved

LBank is a global cryptocurrency exchange that has historically focused on conventional digital asset markets. By introducing the Pre-IPO market, the platform is expanding its reach into the intersection of decentralized finance and traditional private equity, leveraging its existing user base to facilitate access to tokenized private-market opportunities.

Kalshi operates as a regulated U.S. exchange dedicated to event contracts. These contracts allow participants to trade on the outcomes of real-world events spanning economics, politics, and sports. The company has seen significant institutional backing, recently securing a $1 billion financing round in May 2026. This funding round valued Kalshi at $22 billion and drew investment from major venture capital and financial firms, including Sequoia Capital, a16z, Coatue, Paradigm, Morgan Stanley, and ARK Invest. The issuance of Kalshi-linked tokens via the Paimon structure represents a significant step in providing secondary market liquidity for a company of this scale. As a major player in the prediction and event market space, Kalshi’s valuation reflects its growing influence in how financial markets interpret and price real-world data and outcomes.

What this means

The launch of LBank’s Pre-IPO market signals a shift where tokenization is no longer just for niche crypto assets but is being used to dismantle the barriers of private equity. By offering "economic exposure" through SPVs, LBank is putting pressure on traditional retail brokerages that have historically kept pre-IPO access restricted to accredited or institutional investors. However, this model raises significant questions regarding the regulatory classification of these tokens. As more exchanges move to tokenize private shares, the industry must grapple with the transparency of these 1:1 backing claims and the potential for a fragmented secondary market for private equity.
