Casap has secured $56 million in Series B funding to scale its AI agent platform across the financial services sector. By automating high-stakes operations like fraud investigations and dispute resolutions, the company aims to move beyond simple efficiency gains, offering financial institutions a way to improve outcomes and reduce losses through autonomous, auditable decision-making.

What was announced

Casap announced a $56 million Series B funding round led by Base10 Partners, with strategic participation from Experian and Synchrony. This oversubscribed round, which includes support from existing investors Emergence Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, brings the company’s total funding to $90 million. The capital arrives just over a year after a $25 million Series A, a period during which Casap reported a 10X increase in revenue, more than doubling its original target.

The platform utilizes specialized AI agents designed to investigate, decide, and act across a financial institution's existing systems. While the company initially focused on transaction disputes, it is now expanding its reach to include fraud, collections, claims, and complex exceptions. These agents apply an institution’s specific policies and provide an auditable record for every action taken, escalating to human staff only when judgment is required. Casap combines this technology with forward-deployed teams that work alongside institutions to redesign complex operations.

The platform has already been deployed across more than 100 banks, credit unions, fintechs, and processors. According to the company, these implementations have resulted in a 51% reduction in first-party fraud losses and a 96% chargeback win rate, compared to a 60% industry average. Furthermore, the technology has reportedly reduced dispute resolution times from as long as 90 days to just eight days, while automating 73% of cases and cutting human processing time from 45 minutes to between one and two minutes per case.

The companies involved

Casap is an AI agent platform specifically built for the financial services industry. The firm focuses on automating complex, high-stakes back-office operations that traditionally require manual intervention and fragmented system navigation. Lead investor Base10 Partners is joined in this round by major industry incumbents, including Experian, a global information services group that is a dominant player in credit reporting and data analytics.

Synchrony, another strategic participant through Synchrony Ventures, is a premier consumer financial services company that partners with major brands and healthcare providers, serving over 100 million Americans. The round also saw continued backing from Emergence Capital, an early-stage venture firm focused on enterprise software, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, a global venture capital firm with a significant footprint in the fintech and AI sectors. These investors represent a mix of traditional venture capital and strategic corporate interest, reflecting the platform's position at the intersection of legacy financial infrastructure and emerging agentic AI technology.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has previously tracked the expansion of strategic investors and the broader shift toward autonomous financial technology. This includes coverage of how Experian Health Acquires eInsights to Eliminate Revenue Leakage in Healthcare, demonstrating the group's interest in using data to solve complex operational leakage. The rise of the "agentic" economy has been a recurring theme in recent reporting, such as when Harbor Emerges from Stealth with $10M to Insure the Growing AI Agent Economy and Causa Prima Secures $20M Seed Round to Revolutionize B2B Invoicing with AI Agents. Additionally, the industry has seen moves toward AI-native infrastructure, as seen with Mandl Launches to Rebuild Commercial Insurance with AI-Native Ecosystem.

What this means

This funding signals a shift in the fintech AI narrative from "copilots" that assist humans to "agents" that autonomously execute workflows. For financial institutions, the pressure to adopt such technology is mounting as the gap between manual processing and agentic automation becomes a competitive liability. The involvement of Experian and Synchrony is particularly telling; it suggests that incumbents are no longer just looking for efficiency, but for ways to fundamentally alter loss ratios and recovery rates. The industry is moving toward a standard where "explainable AI" is the baseline for regulatory compliance in automated decision-making, putting pressure on legacy providers to modernize or risk obsolescence.
