Caribbean Banking Giant Completes Phase 2 Core Transformation with Validata Agentic AI
By Lauren Towner · 3 November 2026

A major Caribbean financial institution with assets exceeding $13 billion has completed the second phase of its Temenos core banking transformation, leveraging Validata’s Agentic AI for end-to-end testing and data migration. For fintech professionals, this rollout demonstrates how AI-driven automation is being used to mitigate the high risks associated with migrating accounts and deposits during large-scale legacy modernisations.
What was announced
The announcement details the successful Phase 2 rollout of a core banking transformation for a leading Caribbean financial group. Following an initial Phase 1 go-live, this second stage extended the new Temenos core to the bank’s accounts and deposits. Validata’s Agentic AI platform was utilised to automate both the end-to-end testing and the migration of critical data, aiming to provide a smooth and low-risk transition for the institution.
The platform employs a model-driven approach, creating a digital twin of the bank’s systems to act as an intelligent layer across core banking, digital channels, and third-party applications. Unlike traditional script-based automation, these AI agents are designed to understand business processes, allowing them to generate and maintain tests while identifying defects with minimal human intervention. The platform is built to learn and adapt as systems evolve, identifying new test cases as the programme moves through different phases.
During this phase, the bank also transitioned from the Temenos Browser to the new Temenos Explorer user interface. By using Validata’s model-driven architecture, the bank was able to test the new interface by reusing existing business models rather than rebuilding test scripts from scratch. The migration strategy involved a phased co-existence approach, incorporating high-performance staging, auditability, and governance controls to preserve historical data. Automated functional, regression, and performance tests were integrated into the bank’s CI/CD pipeline, covering customer journeys from mobile banking apps through to the core system.
"We don’t just deliver technology; we give our clients lasting capabilities to handle any change, whether that is the next phase of a core banking programme, a new interface or the next wave of digital services. That is how we measure success: by how confidently our clients move forward, knowing we are by their side. This continued success shows the measurable impact Agentic AI can bring to large-scale core banking transformations."

What this means
This rollout highlights a significant shift in how regional banks approach legacy modernisation. By moving away from manual, script-heavy testing toward "agentic" AI and digital twins, institutions are finally addressing the primary bottleneck of core migrations: the fear of data corruption and service downtime. The Caribbean market is proving to be a fertile testing ground for these advanced automation techniques, often outpacing larger European counterparts in adopting end-to-end AI governance. However, the reliance on a "digital twin" layer raises questions about long-term technical debt—specifically whether these intelligent layers simplify the stack or merely mask the underlying complexities of the core. As more banks adopt this model-driven approach, the pressure will mount on traditional consultancy firms that still rely on manual testing hours.
