Allica Bank’s Conrad Ford Reveals How Digital Banks Can Support SMEs That Operate Globally

Conrad Ford, Chief Procuts & Strategy Officer at Allica Bank, sits down with FF News’ Ali Paterson for a discussion about the world of SME banking. In this video, Conrad tells us what digital banks that focus on SMEs can do to support customers that operate on a global scale.

“If you’re a generalist bank and you focus on the domestic market then the questions you’re faced with is how do you serve those customers who may have a small amount of international financing or financial services needs. Well, there are ways to do that. The way that we’ve chosen at Allica Bank is to partner with organisations that are very good at international payments. So in other words, we don’t think we can be brilliant at everything therefore you find a partner who is.”

“The typical Allica customer is a domestic SME, but many SMEs these days certainly in the UK, increasingly do a bit of international trade whether is importing from abroad or selling goods board via amazon.”
