Tony Craddock
Tony Craddock is passionate about emerging payments and how they can transform lives around the world. His community, the Emerging Payments Association, is dedicated to advancing payments innovation. Their goal is to make London the global hotspot for innovation in payments and to encourage collaboration through partner associations, EPA EU and EPA Asia. His personal role is to inspire, challenge, and enable people to go way further than they currently believe is possible. His business bibles are "The Catalyst Code" by David Evans and Richard Schmalensee, and "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman. Tony Craddock has spoken at conferences all over the world, including South Africa, Germany, USA, India, UK, Singapore, Italy, Turkey, France, Netherlands, Sweden, UAE, and Spain. The only place he stops enthusing about payments is when he's climbing a serious hill on his road bike. He sometimes speaks at schools (when lockdown is not a thing) about what it takes to be an entrepreneur (“It’s the future for the UK”). Tony Craddock is a proud parent of three future entrepreneurs, a fan of traveling for business and pleasure (further than his postcode), and an adoring husband to the long-suffering Tory. His specialties include being a catalyst for breakthroughs, innovating, inspiring, creating, shaping, delivering, selling, and grinding his bike up mountains in spite of it all. Tony champions payments technologies globally. He shares his deep payments knowledge, borne from 15 years in payments and evangelical zeal for innovation, when speaking and chairing conferences, publishing books and white papers, or enrolling payments leaders to join the EPA’s collaboration network. A serial entrepreneur; Tony invests in many early stage payments and PayTech companies – enabling them to succeed in a highly competitive payments ecosystem. Tony conceived and launched the Payments Association (EPA) in 2012, where he is Director General. The PA promotes the UK as global hub for payments innovation and the interests of the EPA’s 150+ members, which include banks, card schemes, PSPs, issuers, processors, acquirers, who all come together to drive collective industry change. Tony also leads the communities of EPA Asia, PA EU, EPA US and EPA Africa. His vision is that this global network of interconnected capabilities, people and knowledge will prove to be truly transformational in how the world works, for the benefit of everyone. In 2019, Tony Craddock set up the Inclusion Foundation, a not-for-profit platform company promoting products that help address financial exclusion.
