About Tara L. Waters

Technologist-turned-lawyer-turned-digital transformation evangelist and steward.

I have over 21 years of experience managing complex projects and working across disciplines and borders. My practice and experience have afforded me the opportunity to work in multiple roles and industries, and with persons occupying all manners of professions at all levels, from secretaries and trainees to investment bankers and in-house and general counsel to C-level officers and board members of early stage to FTSE 100 public companies.

Since 2009, I have practiced as a corporate and finance lawyer and, therefore, have significant experience advising companies at all stages in their lifecycle. I am the head of my firm’s High Growth & VC team in Europe, co-head our FinTech team and help lead our DLT and crypto assets practice.

In my role as Head of Ashurst Advance Digital, the technology arm of our NewLaw division Ashurst Advance, I am responsible for helping to deliver Ashurst’s digital transformation strategy. I am shaping our digital-first business model centered on providing innovative technology-led solutions to our clients.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, I spent seven years architecting, managing and developing digital solutions for the new media and information technology industries in New York City, and so have insider expertise in and knowledge of the technology space.
