Stephen Lemon is an entrepreneurial and highly experienced fintech leadership professional.
Currently, he is a Partner at Volution.vc, where they provide extension capital post-Series A to fintech and SaaS companies. Stephen Lemon is also an angel investor, mentor, and adviser to early-stage fintechs.
In 2009, he co-founded Currencycloud, which was ultimately acquired by Visa in 2021 for $1bn. At Currencycloud, they were first to market with an FX and Payments API, pioneering embedded finance before it became a recognized category.
Stephen Lemon is passionate about the digital economy and truly believes we live in exciting times. He advocates that new technology enables innovative business models and offers opportunities for the bold to change the world every day.

Stephen Lemon has worked in Foreign exchange and international payments, pretty much forever, and participated in the first FinTech of the late 90s wave (before it was even called Fintech) as founding team member of HiFX. The current, product lead revolution has tipped him over the edge and he’s now a fully paid up FinTech geek, of the opinion that we live
in exciting times and that Open APIs will change the world.
Stephen Lemon currently also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Advisor for a number of early stage FinTech companies, and has recently mentored for the 2017 cohort at Techsters. In his personal time Steve is a keen amateur photographer, motorsport lover and live music fan.
