In his latest role as the chief growth & transformation officer at Comviva, he is responsible for driving the organisation's strategy and helping it move to the next growth orbit. Prior to taking on the role this year, Srinivas Nidugondi was the SBU head of Digital Financial Solutions, where he helped scale it to become the largest unit, achieving 4x revenue and 12x EBITDA growth; he transformed existing low-performing products and launched new product lines for future growth. The industry-defining products and solutions he led touch the lives of over 1 billion people in 50 countries, with a throughput of over USD 180 billion, and have positively impacted 13 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Before joining Comviva, Srinivas Nidugondi played a key role in the digital evolution of ICICI Bank. By launching and scaling the first mobile banking app in the country (8 million mobile banking users), conceptualising and launching the world’s first P2P interoperable platform (IMPS), on which UPI now runs, he helped create the mobile banking revolution; he also headed India’s first digital banking product and was responsible for the world’s 5th largest Internet Banking platform. Srinivas Nidugondi contributed to financial inclusion initiatives by creating a bank and telco partnership to accelerate the FI objective.
Srinivas Nidugondi began his journey in the emerging Smart Card industry, where he was involved in creating national standards and new business segments. Focusing on the government sector, he was responsible for securing some of the largest ID projects in the world (>10 million).
Srinivas Nidugondi is an ardent believer in “technology for real development,” and in September 2019, was invited to speak at the UNDP high-level event “Digital Future of Development” at the United Nations Headquarters during the General Assembly week. As an angel investor, he is always keen to learn about technologies and trends that can change the world.
Srinivas Nidugondi is a voracious reader with a keen interest in history, public policy, world politics, behavioural economics, and spy thrillers. His love for food and limericks keeps him busy when he is not working.
