About Shane O’Hara

Shane O’Hara co-founded Paymentology in 2015 and, as CEO, took the company from a two-man start-up to a 50-strong team delivering payments processing in four continents. In 2021, Paymentology was acquired by SaltPay. The company is now empowered to expand around the world, offering innovative high-volume card processing to banks. With 15 years of experience in managing the design, build, and operation of prepaid, debit, and credit card payment processing systems in a fast-changing market, he laid the foundation for establishing Paymentology in 2015. Through continuing software innovation, Shane has taken Paymentology ahead of the curve in meeting growing demand from both challenger banks and traditional banks that need to digitize. His team and he have been instrumental in the growth of some of the biggest challenger banks in the world, working with the likes of Revolut and Standard Chartered. Paymentology is now bringing high-value market intelligence into the mix through integrating card payment reconciliation data with customer banking data—an innovation that is driving the company’s significant gains in market share. Shane's passion is in Engineering, pure and simple: Identifying problems and challenges in the payments space and exploring innovative ways to solve them.
