Sergio Barbosa, Co-founder and CIO of enterprise software development house Global Kinetic. CEO of Global Kinetic's open banking platform, FutureBank. Entrepreneur and keen business strategist in FinTech; software architect and leader with particular interest in agile methodologies, estimation techniques, and team management. Innovative product developer with several notable fintech projects under the belt, including the southern hemisphere’s first digital-only bank back in the early 2000s amongst others. Thought leader on topics related to the digital transformation of financial services and payments. Sergio also held the position of Software Engineer at Standard Chartered Bank from August 2004 to February 2006. Sergio started their professional journey as a Software Engineer at Ovation Global Investments (Pty) Ltd from March 1999 to December 1999. Sergio's early career began as an Analyst Programmer at Turner Williams Management Ltd from January 1998 to March 1999. Sergio Barbosa completed a LEAD Programme in Corporate Innovation at Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, in 2001, they obtained a Certificate in Project Management from Faculty Training Institute. Sergio's earliest known educational experience was from 1994 to 1997, during which they pursued a BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.
