About Sarthak Pattanaik

Sarthak Pattanaik is an engineering leader at BNY Mellon, where he serves as the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Hub, and Head of Engineering for Digital Assets, Treasury Services, Clearance & Collateral. He is responsible for the strategy, buildout, adoption and scaling of Artificial Intelligence capabilities in the bank. In addition, he leads the engineering teams that are responsible for the Clearance, Collateral, Payments, Liquidity, Trade services, and Digital Assets groups. Sarthak is a trusted and innovative leader with over 20 years of experience with leading teams that are responsible for the buildout of scalable mission-critical platforms and innovative solutions that help our clients. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he spent 13 years at Nomura Securities in New York, where he served as the Global Head of Market Risk and Counterparty Risk Technology, responsible for value-at-risk, stress testing, economic capital, and regulatory capital models. Before this, he was a Quantitative Analyst responsible for pricing structured credit and securitized products. Sarthak Pattanaik holds three patents related to the use of blockchain technology and is certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM®). He earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. Experienced financial technologist with a demonstrated history of building high-performing teams that deliver mission-critical transactional and analytical platforms.
