Sally Reid brings extensive global financial services experience with a demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments. A strong communicator, she is driven to deliver balanced commercial outcomes and is a dedicated advocate for sustainable, people- and customer-centered business practices. Passionate about Australia’s potential to lead in decarbonization, she has proven expertise in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities arising from the global transition to net zero. She spearheaded Commonwealth Bank’s uplift in climate-related disclosures in 2021 and delivered key institutional business outcomes to support those objectives. Her experience includes originating and managing credit portfolios across Australia’s strategic industries and developing investment expertise in areas such as principal investment, blended finance co-investment, and joint ventures. She has consistently achieved strong operating performance with disciplined cost, risk, and return management, underpinned by a proven track record in governance, risk management, and fostering a positive risk culture. Sally Reid serves as Executive General Manager of Capital Structuring at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, a role she assumed in February 2023. Most recently, she served as Executive General Manager of Global Client Solutions for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Previously, she served as Managing Director of Connected Services and Head of Client Coverage for bank and government clients. Reid joined CBA after spending over a decade at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ), including as Head of Institutional Portfolio Management and Executive Director of the Financial Institutions Group. Prior to joining ANZ, Reid served three years as Division Director of the Risk Management Group at Macquarie Group. Prior to that, Reid spent four years in Johannesburg, South Africa working as Director of Country and Bank for Absa and Director of Country Risk at Standard Bank. Earlier in her career, Reid spent three years in London as an Economist at Abbey National Treasury Services, part of Santander UK plc.
