About Roger Bracken
I’ve spent 30 years building fintech and payments businesses across the UK and Europe. I have held Board roles, built new businesses, worked across the region, led 3 turnarounds, held 2 interim roles, managed P&L’s and M&A, led large multinational teams and small entrepreneurial teams and recently participated in the sale of our business to new PE owners.
I started my career in sales and quickly grew into roles where I managed substantial businesses, P&L’s and regional teams. My work spanned hardware, software, payments and services. I led NCR’s intrapreneurial team to create the “convenience fee” ATM industry. In 2006 I took a year out to complete a full time MBA at London Business School (the Sloan Fellowship) to enrich my leadership skills and to increase the breadth of my general management knowledge.
In 2007 I joined First Data as UK Country Manager and rose to lead the EMEA region. The EMEA region had revenue of $1.2bn, over 5000 staff, operated in 29 countries and managed 600,000 POS devices, 10K ATMS and 100m cards. I also chaired the Board of our largest merchant acquiring JV in Europe, AIBMS, for 5 years. I am an energetic, strategic leader who thrives on managing complexity and has a track record in getting the best out of diverse teams.
For the last 4 years I have led the European arm of a small, entrepreneurial NZ-based software and embedded payments business, TSG. We grew the European business by 50% and sold to new owners in 2019.
I’m now building a portfolio of activity advising PE and helping fintechs grow. I thrive on challenge and change and am hungry for my next opportunity!
