About Pierre Palmieri

Pierre Palmieri has been working within Societe Generale Group for over 30 years, holding various positions within SG CIB in export finance, commodity finance, trade finance, and natural resources & energy before becoming Head of Global Finance in 2012. Since 2019, he has served as Head of Global Banking and Advisory.
Global Banking and Advisory combines advisory, capital markets, and financing activities, aiming to provide the most integrated service offering to the Bank’s clients worldwide.
In addition to his role as Head of Global Banking and Advisory, he leads Societe Generale's Sustainable and Positive Impact Finance offering, integrating the bank’s Environmental & Social (E&S) expertise into a wide range of innovative financial solutions that meet the E&S requirements and opportunities of their issuer and investor clients.
He has been a member of Societe Generale Group Management Committee since 2011 and a member of the Corporate & Investment Banking Executive Committee since 2012.
In the 90s, he taught finance as a "Professeur associé" at Paris Dauphine University, and he currently gives lectures at EDHEC business school.
He has also been a Board Member of several companies, including SGBT (Luxembourg), SG Brazil, Rosbank (Russia), and Gaselys (a former JV between Engie and Societe Generale).
Pierre Palmieri is Deputy Chief Executive Officer, member of the Group General Management team and of the Group Executive Committee, having been appointed 24 May 2023.
He joined the Agence Internationale’s team in 1994, where he created the global Commodity Finance business line. He was appointed Global Head of Structured Commodity Finance in 2001.
Pierre Palmieri is a graduate of the École Supérieure de Commerce in Tours.
