Chairman Of The Board
About Paul Rippon
A banker, serial entrepreneur and learning coach who makes things happen with people. His behaviour is characterised by honesty, fun and challenge.
Paul’s journey spans a humble beginning in the housing estates of Nottingham, fired by naivety, raw intelligence and being streetwise. His eventful financial services career in retail and commercial banking covers 30 years at 8 banks and building societies in the UK, Ireland and beyond. He’s worked in PLC, mutual, nationalised, private, charity and venture capital funded institutions. Paul has co-founded 7 businesses since 2007 across agriculture, manufacturing, digital and 2 banks notably Monzo.
Paul’s approach has evolved over the years from being an individual disruptive change agent, to being a leader acutely aware of people’s feelings and needs. He enjoys coaching people to be more confident, comfortable being themselves and to use their strengths. He is highly skilled at addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders with empathy, logic and humour.
He has served on several boards and sub-committees over the last 20 years, is a qualified banker and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is also an accredited learning coach.
Although he’s still ambitious and at times impatient, Paul is making time to enjoy the present. He’s also reflecting and listening more with the help of his coaches and mentors.
