About Odilon Almeida

Odilon Almeida is a senior global leader who drives transformational value creation in the financial, fintech, telecom, and consumer goods sectors. With over 30 years of experience, he has set strategy and led growth acceleration involving retail and digital transformations, organic expansion, turnarounds, and the acquisition and integration of new businesses. His track record spans multiple continents and countries, and his emphasis on integrity, accountability, and diversity has enabled him to navigate different cultures and markets worldwide. In March 2020, he was appointed President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the board of directors of ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a global leader in real-time electronic payment and banking solutions for banks, financial institutions, and corporations around the world. From 2019 to February 2020, he served as an Operating Partner at Advent International, one of the world's largest private equity funds with $54.3 billion in assets under management across 41 countries. Before that, he spent 17 years at the Western Union Corporation (WU), where he held increasingly significant general management roles. As President of Western Union Global Money Transfer, he led the $5 billion global consumer retail and digital business across 200+ countries and territories. His work at Western Union included accelerating the growth of the global consumer business, driving transformational growth in Latin America through organic expansion and successful M&A, and overseeing short-term turnarounds in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He also spearheaded digital transformation, establishing Western Union as the global digital leader in cross-border consumer money transfers. Odilon Almeida is also a member of the board of directors of Millicom International (NASDAQ: TIGO), a $6 billion provider of cable and mobile services to more than 50 million consumers in Latin America and Africa. A native of Brazil, he has lived and worked in cities in the U.S., Canada, and Brazil and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
