Nina Mohanty is the co-founder and CEO of Bloom Money, an app that builds tools for diaspora communities to build generational wealth. Before leaving to found Bloom Money, Nina Mohanty worked at Klarna making payments smoooth and reimagining a better way to pay. Prior to Klarna, She worked at London-based Open Banking start up, Bud. She has been a steadfast believer in delivering technology that can better customer’s financial lives and financial literacy since her days at Starling Bank and Mastercard. She is a recipient of the TechWomen 100 award and recently served as a judge for the Women in Finance UK Awards and the Great British Businesswoman Awards. She has been recognised for four years by Innovate Finance on the Women in FinTech Power List, most recently as a Standout in the Senior Leaders category. In 2023, Nina Mohanty was recognised on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in the European Finance category. In her free time she volunteers her time with multiple charitable organisations and advises Talent Beyond Boundaries on their strategy for access to financial services for their refugee candidates. Bloom Money provides a savings club for immigrant communities that allows members to save for education or special occasions like a wedding. To get the business off the ground, Nina Mohanty raised a $1.2 million pre-seed round from mostly female, immigrant, and BIPOC investors. Nina Mohanty graduated from CEMS in 2017. She studied at the London School of Economics, where she was President of the CEMS Club, and the Vienna School of Economics and Business. Upon graduation, Nina Mohanty pursued the FinTech industry with the hope of driving social change through technology. Nina Mohanty Awarded the 2019 CEMS Junior Alumna of the Year for upholding CEMS values in both her personal and professional life, She embodies what it means to be a CEMSie.
